On April 18, 2026, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden attended a ball celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Swedish Air Force. The jubilee ball took place at Uppsala Castle and was hosted by the Chief of the Air Force, Major General Jonas Wikman. Around 600 guests gathered for a banquet in the grand state hall. For the occasion, Queen Silvia wore a velvet gown by Maknam.

The music was performed by the Air Force Band, and there were vocal performances by field artist Sharon Dyall. Among those present were the King and Queen, the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces, the Governor of Uppsala County, and other invited guests from the Armed Forces, along with personnel from across the Air Force.

  1. As far as one can see, Silvia looks elegant and beautiful. Regal!
I think the blond lady should have chosen a different dress which flatters her bodytype better.

The queens gown is a pretty colour, wish I could see more of it. Now the brown dress, although the lady is thin, it doesn’t fit nicely. A bit too long, tight around the hips shows imperfections. Could use a necklace on the open area. Despite having a lovely figure for an older lady I personally would not wear this type of dress solely because it shows too much crepe skin. Kudos to her for being comfortable doing so.
