On April 9, 2026, Queen Sonja of Norway attended the 75th anniversary of the Norwegian Total Defence Forum (Norsk TotalforsvarsForum). Upon her arrival at Akershus Fortress, the Queen was welcomed by the Managing Director of the Norwegian Total Defence Forum, Hanne Guro Garder, and the Chair of the Board, Kåre Ludwig Jørgensen.
It was Crown Princess Märtha who, in the early 1950s, first raised the issue of involving women in support roles and tasks related to Norway’s national preparedness. The result was the establishment of the organization Women’s Voluntary Preparedness (KFB) on April 9, 1951. Queen Sonja currently serves as the Honorary President of the Norwegian Total Defence Forum, while Princess Astrid is the organization’s patron.

Not quite sure what the Queen is wearing. A Navy jacket velvet?
ReplyDeleteWhen you look at the queen’s profile, you can clearly see that she has undergone no major cosmetic intervention. Actually, she reminds me of my mother who went for facials, the gentle ones, and always looked wonderful afterwards. I wish some major royals would follow her example.
ReplyDelete🌞 Virginia
Hear hear Virginia. Let our faces tell the story of our lives. Filling faces with chemicals and toxins, scraping away skin layers, unnaturally attempting to look 30 at age 70 has gone way too far. I KNOW individuals get to choose what to do with their bodies; … but many are choosing injectables, lasers, and surgery not because it’s their own idea for their own body that they came up with themselves, but rather due to both overt and subtle trends and marketing from the multi billion dollar cosmetic / plastic surgery industry.
DeleteJ’aime la deuxième photo où je vois un très joli velours bleu nuit ; la reine a su y arborer une délicate petite broche !
ReplyDeleteQueen Sonja is wonderful in blue velvet and a marvelous-looking shawl; does anyone know the label? Love the shawl (or coat) of the Managing Director as well, must still be a bit chilly in Oslo.
ReplyDeleteVery nice to see her again. Nice outfit.
