On April 28, 2026, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the exhibition “Mary of Hungary: Art and Power during the Renaissance” at the Domain and Royal Museum of Mariemont. The exhibition features more than 40 works from museums and private collections, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, engravings, manuscripts, and pieces of goldsmithery. It is part of Europalia España and runs until May 10.

    I like the fabric of the queen's dress but I feel the tailoring of the bodice area, especially, is lacking in attention to her body shape. For a designer to ignore that a human body has shape and that heavy fabric needs some darts and seams to make it fit is lacking in basic construction details.

    That’s a very beautiful dress. The neckline is quite unusual and beautiful. This handbag is not to my taste, the padded look à la Chanel simply looks overpriced to my eyes, but its colour and coordinating shoes pair very well.
