On April 1, 2026, Queen Mathilde of Belgium received Ms Claire Pahaut at the Royal Palace in Brussels. Pahaut is the author of Ces Dames de Ravensbrück, a work that blends history and memory, telling the story of the 2,250 women who were deported from Belgium to the Nazi women’s concentration camp Ravensbrück.

The Queen looks lovely and the red blouse is so becoming, but Ms. Pahaut’s outfit is the one that really strikes me. It’s very flattering to her and I so admire how the three simple pieces are pulled together by the scarf. To my eyes this is elegance personified.
ReplyDeleteLovely comment. Claire Pashtun is indeed beautifully - and simply - elegant, with lovely colours too. Mathilde’s combination is relaxed and vibrant… although for me to top it off, I’d love to see her hair less puffed up… it looks so lovely natural and sleeker.
Delete** Pahaut, not Pashtun obviously. My autocorrect does some very strange things!
DeleteNormal every day outfit for the lady ?! What more ? I see no reason to be impressed.
DeleteQn's hair style not at its best. Here and on other pics Mathilde seems to have lost some weight, my impression as well.
MaryT no one is asking you to be impressed. But some of us are, particularly with the older lady who we think achieves very sweet elegance with several simple pieces very well put together.
DeleteBoth ladies look lovely! The Queen looks so vibrant in red and I really love the houndstooth pants. She looks fresh and modern. Ms Pahaut also looks great…ready for spring, and on trend, in soft yellow and a floral scarf.
ReplyDeleteIs it the photo, or the photography style? Mathilde suddenly looks very thin to how she normally looks. Just my observation. I like the colours of the full outfit but would have preferred straighter sleeves on the blouse.

È un’attenta osservazione, questa foto è maldestramente ritoccata e si vede guardando il viso di Mathilde.
DeleteShe looks not different than normal. She is tall and has long legs, which shows more when she is wearing trousers.
DeleteQueen Mathilde's forehead is much higher than in reality. The same happened to Duchess Sophie not so lang ago.
DeleteYes she quite likely has lost a bit of weight. I hope she is well and happy.
Delete@ Anon 9:13, the outfit is the appropriate fit or size, whatever one wants to call it. Note the sharp creases on the pants. The creases are the full length, the fabric is not smooth or pulled over the thigh area. Chris
DeleteI don't usually like bows but this one is very unique and tied in a way that is interesting. Since Mathilde is so tall she can carry all that extra fabric and still look stylish.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteQueen Mathilde's blouse is from 2022 and her trousers from 2023. She looks lovely. Someone made a comment on her sleeves which should be smaller. Queen Mathilde's sleeves are up to date and transparent which makes them very attractive. Her shoes however seem to be worn out. Her golden earrings are by Barbara Louys.
ReplyDeleteNice red blouse. Both ladies are looking good.

Ms Claire Pahaut looks so lovely, I love the color of her pants and matching-colored shoes, a splash of color with her scarf, this lifts the overall look beautifully, especially against the cream of her jumper and coat. She looks quietly elegant and graceful. The Queen looks fabulous. Love the red/orange colored blouse, this style suits her and fits perfectly, the bow is not overdone. The sleeves are very attractive, elegance. I love sleeves such as this. The pants, fit beautifully, long legs she looks great in pants.. The orange colored belt, perfect choice. The color of her shoes blend well, bit of wear there. Her golden earrings look really very good, of substance, nice design.
