On April 2, 2026, Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the opening of “Be Philanthropy 2026,” the congress of the King Baudouin Foundation, held at Autoworld Brussels. The event brings together philanthropists, notaries, policymakers, and representatives of companies and foundations to discuss the role and impact of philanthropy.
This edition holds special significance in the context of the 50th anniversary of the King Baudouin Foundation, which has been supporting projects for half a century in areas such as poverty reduction, health, democracy, heritage, and climate. The Foundation was established in 1976 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of King Baudouin’s accession to the throne.

This dress, being very elegant in itself, as elegant as simple can be, has most of the features that are good for Mathilde: no waist accentuation of any kind, 3/4 sleeves and a very good length. And a neckline not totally closed, in her case: horizontally open, helps too.

DeleteI agree with everything that you have written but would just add that
it's a beautiful Spring color on Mathilde.
Cate.
Wow Queen Mathilde looks good ! In this dress style she looks much thinner. I think she is wearing a handbag by Dior.
ReplyDeleteVery charming!
ReplyDeleteA very simple, classic dress that is a departure from some of the more complicated outfits Mathilde has worn lately. I love the rich, deep pink colour and the tailored fit.
ReplyDeleteAgreed…perfect cut, style, and color for the Queen. She looks fantastic!
DeleteDespite it fitting well and being well cut, flattering and simple, I believe it is Natan. Shock horror! Has there been a change of direction for the fashion house? The reason Max and Mathilde are looking so good is that their favoured brand has improved their offer, from what I can see!
ReplyDeleteCompletely wrong thoughts. As well Queen Maxima as Queen Mathilde are wearing their old dresses by Natan to do their working visits.
Delete@Anon 15:46. You are not the arbiter of anyone’s thoughts other than your own. Whyever would you think otherwise? You may disagree with someone’s opinion, but telling them their thoughts are wrong is uncalled for.
Delete15:46 I appreciate you taking the time to tell me that I have “completely the wrong thoughts”. No one’s ever told me that before.
Deletead 19:45, congratulations for the answer. As some colleagues here say "you made my day".
DeleteThanks Mary T! I wasn’t sure exactly how to acknowledge being told my thoughts are “completely wrong” (not just a little bit!) so I thought I’d start by thanking her for her precious time! Then I realised it was the best comeback.
DeleteBeautiful, elegant dress!!! Queen Mathilde looks wonderful in this dress and the color is marvelous for her. This style of dress is very flattering for Mathilde--nothing to emphasize her waistline/torso issues. One thing that surprises me is the lack of jewelry--Mathilde usually wears more than is discernible here. Would love to know the designer of this dress! Mathilde should order more colors and prints in this style!
ReplyDeleteJanet
No Queen Mathilde must not order more colors nor prints in this style because she already has them. This dress is a rewear. I am looking up in what period this dress was new. Once I found it I will write a new comment. There are a lot of new commenters on this blog and/or commenters who are forgetting very quickly.
Delete@anon 15:53. I think HM Q Mathilde is capable of making her own decisions about what to buy and wear. You are not entitled to tell her what she must or mustn’t do. And, I for one welcome new commenters to the blog and usually enjoy hearing their opinions.

DeleteIt was not me but Janet at 14:15 who said Queen Mathilde should order more colors and print in this style. Maybe I expressed myself wrongly but I am not the one who usually tell what Queen Mathilde must do, therefore I admire her too much. I am afraid that the new commenters do not know when the queen wears and old dress or a new one and the older commenters have forgotten she wore the dress on many occasions in the past.
Just as an "incidentally:" the European style of men's suit pants is really unflattering with those very tight legs which droop onto their shoes. I write as I look at the fellow beside the queen's car. A few royal men look just as messy as that one.
ReplyDeleteLonger hens make perfect sense in winter and when we sit down so that not too much of the lower leg is exposed. I think these hemlines are very neat and practical.
DeleteIn addition to my very recent comment: and the pants comment comes after a tailor has care measured and constructed very nice suit-jackets. What a contradiction in fit!
ReplyDeletePerfect dress for her, colour, style
ReplyDeleteMerveilleuse robe fuchsia aux lignes sobres qui va bien avec sa blondeur !
ReplyDeleteVery nice and stylish. Also, great color dress.

The dress is not by Natan. It is a pink dress by Belgian designer Bernard Depoorter, a piece she has worn numerous times over the years. As reported by Jelka from Garderobe Royale.
ReplyDeleteYes you are right Sherry. The dress is by Bernard Depoorter and is at least 10 years old. Queen Mathilde is wearing a pink Armani bag with this dress and pink shoes. Her hartshape earrings are by Percossi Papi (not visible on these pictures).
DeleteThe Fuchsia dress looks smashing! beautiful fit, classic clear cut lines, suits her beautifully. I love the color of her shoes. She looks elegant and stylish. Her hair looks lovely, soft and natural.
