On April 18, 2026, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Denmark were confirmed at Fredensborg Palace Chapel. The confirmation was conducted by the Royal Confessor, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen. The Orangery at Fredensborg Palace provided the setting for the celebration, and the occasion was, of course, marked with a reception at the palace.

Among the guests were several of King Frederik and Queen Mary’s close friends, many of whom are godparents to Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. Queen Margrethe, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Count Nikolai, and Count Felix, as well as King Felipe VI, Princess Camilla, and Prince Charles, attended the royal twins’ confirmation at Fredensborg.

These are beautiful photos of such an important event. How nice that so many of the Godparents were able to be there with TRH Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.

@Anonymous 21:15, I think Anonymous 20:58 is refering to Josephine, since she is the only "she" who is being confirmed here - her day!

      @ 21: 15
I can't remember her name but I believe that this woman is from the previous Italian royal family.
She has two daughters I think and I vaguely remember that one of them
was photographed with Christian a year or so ago.

  4. The twin confirmands look very good, and seem happy to have had so many family gathered for this event. Glad to see that Queen Margrethe could attend, and also that King Felipe made the journey up to Denmark.

What beautiful children. I really like Josephine's dress, she looks lovely. Vincent looked great so do the rest of the family. Mary is stunning great suit love the headpiece. It seems all family members and Godparents are present. This is a very important day in their life. I wish Vincent and Josephine the best.

Lovely dress on Josephine…she’s blossomed into a beauty. Vincent is so tall and handsome and he has a bit of fun cheekiness to him. 😊 The whole family looks wonderful. I’ve read that Mary’s sisters were there and wonder if Mary and her family will go back to Australia with them for her father’s funeral. A happy but sad time for the family.

Funny to see almost adults (especially Princess Josephine in an adult dress) are doing confirmation. As a catholic I did my confirmation at the age of 12 years old. The twins are looking both very beautiful. Good to see that Queen Mary felt better than 2 days ago.

HRH P. Josephine, and her twin, P. Vincent, are only 14. Not such a difference from age 12, except I guess 12 is pre-teen and 14 young teen. All still very much children.

    2. Actually, the twins turned 15 in January this year.

We were not dressed like young adults but like children and we were children, but times have changed. At 15 they go out to parties if the parents agree with it of course. My grandson is 17 and he is brought and picked up by one of his parents because in my country a teenager of 17 is not allowed to enter a club or a disco alone when he is not conducted by an adult. They do not receive drinks containing alcohol either. Once they are 18 and considered as adult they are free to enter. But they still have to be careful that they don't drink too much beer or cocktails or whatever, otherwise they are kicked out by the boss of the club.

Are they only 14 years old ? They look much older. Maybe it is because of the way they are dressed. Vincent is wearing a beautiful suit but a striped suit like his, is much too old for a young boy of 14. King Philippe is wearing a suit like that but he is 66. Prince Christian is wearing the suit of his 18th birthday which is a striped brown suit and also much too old for him. In my family the young men have their first suit at the age of 20 and they are plain black or navy suits. A dress with a neckline like Josephine's you won't see on a young girl of 14 unless it is summer and vacation but not to go to church or in this case to a chapel for confirmation.

All dressed so nicely . I notice Isabella is wearing her baptismal pink pin. Queen Margrethe looks lovely on her blue suit, it must make her eyes stand out. I like seeing her included and sitting in front, close to her family, close by her granddaughter.

  11. P. Josphine looked appropriately groomed and attired, the white dress is beautiful. Her hair and makeup on point. The single strand pearl necklace was the perfect addition. Her drop pearl earrings very elegant. The gold cross was a nice addition. Prince Vincent looked wonderful, beautifully groomed, his suit looked so nice. The twins are beautiful looking children. Josephine reminds me so much of her mum. Her facial shape is literally the same as Queen Mary.
Queen Mary's outfit is splendid. I love the color blue this is gorgeous. The jacket and pants, design, fit and style, I love. The jacket had a zipper down the back, very interesting feature, which I like. Love her Navy shoes, nice, blending well. The single stud diamond earrings, wow! these are stunning. The piece I love the most is the beautiful Sapphire and diamond brooch, this is one of my favorites, its perfectly placed and the most splendid addition to finish this ensemble off so well. The Queen looked graceful and elegant.

Hello, dearest @ Ava, here I am, back again ( I am on a very short break).
As @ Zucchina said, you described everything so perfectly and I do agree with you as well.
I have just written a comment on the other poster re: the twins' Confirmation and also noticed that P.JosephineiIs truly a Mary mini me.
I enjoyed your descriptions of jewellery best, diamonds and sapphires are to die for!
The last pic is so sweet and tender, I can hardly Imagine the mixed feelings inside Queen Mary's heart.
A mother's love and pride are so much stronger than a private grief and Mary's smiles succeeded in lightening up this festive day.
