On April 24, 2026, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde received 53 young people who represented Belgium at Harvard WorldMUN with the Belgian MUN Society. Harvard WorldMUN is an international United Nations simulation conference. Students from all over the world step into the role of diplomats to debate and negotiate global issues. In doing so, they develop their critical thinking, public speaking, and negotiation skills.
The Belgian MUN Society is the organization that prepares the Belgian delegations. For many years, these delegations have been among the very best. They regularly win awards both as a team and individually and have one of the strongest track records in the competition. For the occasion, the Queen wore a floral-print dress by Etro.

Wow, what a dress! This queen is really one of a kind!
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteAbsolutely!!
DeleteAbsolutely!!
DeleteThis is the best cut for Queen Mathilde's dresses. A straight skirt and classic bodice. It is a rewear from 2022, but I still like it. I also like her hair turned towards the inside (photo N° 1). Shoes and clutch are orange and matching the flowers in the dress. The earrings are by Caroline Herera.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100%!!! This style is just right for Queen Matilde--I also think the soft drape of the fabric suits her better than the stiffer fabrics she so often chooses. Janet
DeleteAgree on great style for Queen Mathilde, great accessories and the fun pattern transforms it into a great look rather than one that is just okay ( Queen Letizia could take note!) Lovely
DeleteUsually not a fan of Etro design but this is very nice.
ReplyDeleteRavie que la reine ait ressorti de son dressing cette superbe robe à imprimé floral ; avec les chaussures orange, cela donne un look parfait !
ReplyDeleteThe etro dress is nice but for me the dress I like better is the geometric orangey one on the girl with short blonde hair in pic2. On second glance, find the picture disturbing in a way as it looks like she and the King are flirting, but I know a photo is a minuscule moment in time and likely one of 2000 the photographer took that day that tell the real story.
ReplyDeleteKing Philippe is a handsome man but also very friendly and as a student she is probably impressed when he is asking her about her expectations for the future and what she is hoping to achieve in life with her studies.
DeleteKing Philippe and Queen Mathilde are receiving a big number of Belgian and foreign students each year. They probably talked about their daughter too who will receive her diploma by the end of next month at Harvard University in Cambridge, US.
It are people like you who are responsable for gossip in the gutter press. If an older good looking man is having a friendly conversation with a younger woman, it does not mean they are flirting with each other.
It is a lovely photo. I doubt there was any flirting going on, but so what if there was. If you find that image disturbing, perhaps you need help.
DeleteWow 16:52. I started to read your response to me thinking ah that’s a good explanation and then suddenly, whack, “people like me?”. Spectacularly unfair criticism and assumptions there.
DeleteWhat an odd comment anon at 12:19 😮. How can you see "flirting" in that picture? Normally, people's facial expressions constantly change during a conversation. I'm sure that the conversation with the king was "once in a life time" experience for those students.
DeleteAnon at 16:52, agree with you about how the gossips begin.
Queen Mathilde's dress looks very good on her. I love that strong orange on the deep blue. I see no reason to compare those two totally different outfits on two totally different ladies.
Wow! It is Spring, the cold winter is over, these young people win awards, my general impression is the economy is good in Belgium and there is opportunity; lots of reasons for people to be happy and optimistic - and someone sees flirting? Beautiful dress on Mathilde. Christine
DeleteOh, this is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe print of this dress is very bold. I don't usually like big floral prints but this one was used sparingly at the shoulders so it's not overpowering. Orange looks great against navy. I like how it was used to trim the sleeves. I really like the style and fit of the dress as it enhances Mathilde's figure.
ReplyDeleteI like this dress. Just bright enough for the Queen to stand out, but not too bold with the navy bottom half of the dress. Lisa
ReplyDeleteWhat an impressive group of young men and women! And they are dressed very well for the royal visit.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Queen, I love this outfit from head to toe! The vibrant colors, pattern placement on the top half, cut/length, and orange accessories really make this an outstanding look.
I agree 100%, my thoughts exactly.
DeleteThe bold print of the dress against the canvas blue looks exceptionally good, really well placed and pattern wise, gorgeous, the colors gel well. The cut of this dress is very good, slimming and suits the Queen perfectly. These styles imo suit her so much better, the color of her belt, shoes and clutch, splendid! The King looks well groomed and smartly dressed.
ReplyDeleteI think she looks wonderful. Great color dress.
