Love it. The fringe is very becoming to add length without being solid and works well with the fabric. Gives modest coverage , colour is great.

    1. Good comment, and I agree. The fabric is unforgiving, and the fringe covers what might otherwise be unsightly. Also, it provides some interest for this monochromatic look.

"Love it" - so do I. Great look for Mathilde and very modern.

      @ Vanessa
In the pink dress she wore earlier this day, there was nothing "unsightly" either and there were no fringes to cover it.

    4. @ 14:19: I´m not sure what you mean and what the pink dress from another occasion has to do with it. By "unsightly" I meant things like a tight crotch area, possible fabric creases from sitting, underwear lines showing through etc. As I said - it´s a fairly unforgiving fabric and pretty much requires spandex bodyshaping undergarments. (I´m a 100% sure that even the model wore those udnerneath.) The fringe therefore helps a lot. It provides both cover for modesty and some interest and texture.

Mathilde looks excellent in this fringed two-piece. If I recall correctly, it is a re-wear, and I couldn't be happier to see her in it again. It suits her and her proportions perfectly. Beautiful.

  6. This two piece fringed ensemble looks wonderful. The fringe, clever addition. Giving her modesty, I like this. The color is sublime, glorious shade.

Queen Mathilde's outfit was new in 2021. I remember she wore it for the 2nd time at the annual meeting of the German speaking countries. The emerald green is a good colour for the queen.
A pity we cannot see the earrings she is wearing today. Her shoes are beige or light grey, which we cannot see exactly either.
Queen Mathilde is wearing all her older clothes lately. I think these clothes are still beautiful to wear today. They are looking new and are probably well conserved and looked after by the people who work in the Castle of Laeken.

  9. Yes to 21:23, I also think it is a re-wear.

  10. I wish for the fringes to be a bit longer. Or the top as such. Other than that, Queen Mathilde had a pretty successful week on the satorial front.

    1. Fringes are ok ! Don't spoil the look.

    2. MaryT - I didn't say anything against the fringes. Only that I'd like them a little longer.

What’s not to love. The color is beautiful. The trouser sits nicely on the shoe. The fringe element brings a little dimension to the outfit.
    Lowri.
