On the third day of the state visit to Poland, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia arrived in Gdańsk. They were welcomed by the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, and the director of the European Solidarity Centre, Magdalena Mistat. After a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to the fallen shipyard workers of 1970, the King and Queen and the ministers took part in a meeting with former president Lech Wałęsa.
At the city gate of Gdańsk’s Old Town, the King and Queen and ministers Maria Malmer Stenergard and Parisa Liljestrand were welcomed by Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz. The King and Queen then walked to the historic Town Hall for a visit.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, accompanied by President Karol Nawrocki and First Lady Marta Nawrocka, visited the Museum of the Second World War. The museum’s director, Professor Rafał Wnuk, welcomed the guests, who were then given a guided tour focusing on the Second World War in Poland.
Queen Silvia and First Lady Marta Nawrocka then visited the Gdańsk Barnahus together with Minister Parisa Liljestrand. They were welcomed by Beata Wojtkowska, Vice Chair of the Empowering Children Foundation (ECF), a partner organization of the World Childhood Foundation. The King and Queen later visited Dom Zdrojowy on the beach in Gdańsk.

La reine a belle allure dans ce manteau aux lignes épurées !
ReplyDeleteOui vraiment belle allure
DeleteThis coat looks lovely, style, color and fit. The blue pantsuit, headband worn by the first lady, she looks very stylish.
ReplyDeleteSilvia looks great.
ReplyDeleteBut the long running trend of coats and long cardigans without buttons has long bewildered me. Here in multiple photos she holds her coat closed … a few buttons by the designer of the otherwise beautiful coat would have helped in a very practical way.
I really like the coat and the look.
ReplyDeleteSo do I.
Deleteam impressed with Lady Marta Nawrocka she is dressed for Royal visit, with hair band, tiara the other night. But Queen Slyvia has downgraded her Royal wadrope on this visit
ReplyDeleteGood job, Dear Author with all Polish diacritic signs, like those in Gdańsk, Wałęsa or Rafał!
ReplyDeleteWhere are the Polish manners? You do not stand in front of Queen (picture 8 ). As a matter of fact you do not stand in front of any older person or visitor .
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia has looked great on this trip (as has the polish First Lady) and these coats are no exception. Love the picture of the King and Queen on the beach
