On Thursday afternoon, March 12, 2026, Queen Máxima christened the research vessel RV Anna Weber–van Bosse of the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ). The christening took place in the NIOZ harbor on Texel. The RV Anna Weber–van Bosse was designed to meet the future needs of the Dutch marine research community.

After the christening, Queen Máxima toured the ship. In the wheelhouse and in several laboratories, she met with members of the crew and with scientists who will use the vessel for their research activities. The new research vessel is nearly eighty meters long and operates with modular container laboratories, allowing different containers to be used depending on the type of research.

Isn't she adorable - laughing even when almost blown away by the wind. Highly professional in her role in such a lovely way.

I agree…these pix brought a huge smile to my face. She handled the gusty day like a total pro!

    2. Its even better: the very strong wind blew the champagne in Maxima’s direction and she was showered by it as a result.

  3. The dress the Queen is wearing, is lovely, nice to see the rewear. She looks warm and rugged up well. The earrings are gorgeous, of substance. The brooch is stunning, its different and unusual

  4. What a wild day! To cope with a hat in gales like that Queen Maxima needs the old fashioned solution used by my old aunties in the western Isles. Several large hat pins!!!
The dress is really nice, the shoes immaculate as usual.

All that fake hair again, not pretty and also very visible. Dress very suitable for the occasion.

Clearly you have a skill I lack. How can you tell it’s fake and where is it visible?

She must be fun to be around. She looks great. Glad the wind did not blow her away. She is godmother to a Research Vessel.

Yet again, in agreement with you,
      @ css.
Only want to add that Q.Maxima should wear black stockings and pumps more often (she has the height and the figure to do them justice).
