Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA), took part in a virtual meeting with European Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque to discuss financial literacy and financial health. Only a small proportion of European Union citizens possess a high level of financial literacy. The Financial Literacy Strategy, launched by the European Commission last year, aims to address this issue.

She has been encouraged by her eltern to achieve a lot of knowledge of the financial world. There have been a series on Dutch television about her life from a young age on until she married Willem-Alexander.
