The Princess Royal for the winner! Not only because she left her boots with those long tassels at home (the present ones are fabulous!). Perfect color coordination and such a good hat for her (hiding/covering that slightly bouffant front part of her hairstyle is always good). Looks terrific, and I always appreciate a good decorative scarf deployment, which is the case here.

There are some very interesting fashion choices in photo 7. The beautiful girl next to Zara may have lovely legs but in this instance would perhaps have better considered a skirt to her knees as the gap between boots and skirt doesn’t come across well in the photo cf much better covered others. The girl on the far right has a real style which is great for the races but in another context I would have said: that’s a lot of spare fabric. Camilla is great but my favourite in this line up is 3rd from the left, a beautiful girl in a manly suit just beautifully styled and so elegant.

Would you prefer her being cut out of the picture walking with Zara? The ladies shown here are in most cases not royal. Also cut them out?

So what ? There are other on the photo who are not royal either, I bet.

Respectfully, QC’s son and daughter were in the royal enclosure there the same day. I see no difference in the situations. Their mom is Queen; the other’s daughter will be Queen.

    4. Mrs Middleton est la belle mère du prince de Galles et donc du futur roi. En ce sens, elle fait partie de la famille royale

  5. Camilla's hat is very wild with those long feathers. But it's rather conservative in comparison to Zara's ultra contemporary style. Wow! I do like the combination of camel with black. It looks smashing.

A thumbs up to everyone in these photos. The Q and PR look great and are wearing their respective silhouettes and colors. Zara and Mike are both looking polished, coordinated and appropriate. My favorite is the tall lady next to the Q in the last photo. The three piece suit, tie with clip, coat, and bag/shoe combo is stunning!

When Queen Mathilde wears the belt of her cape coat on the same height as Zara Tindall is wearing hers, she receives a lot of comments that she is high waisted etc... It is not fair that one must always refer to Queen Mathilde's body type looks as it is a handicap. Believe me Zara Tindall's outfit with the belt like this is far from perfect. Dark colors, stupid hat. Carole Middleton looks good to me. Would have like to see a complete picture of her coat and boots (shoes).
The woman who is dressed up like a man looks like those women who dressed in the androgyne style of the years 1920s-1930s. She is wearing the same faux Hermes bag just like the 1st woman from the right (photo N°7).
Princess Anne is looking older than usual with that hat. Her boots are looking cheap. She could ask her daughter where she is buying her boots. Zara Tindall is always wearing up-to-date boots. Queen Camilla has a bird's nest on her hat. I never liked her coat which cannot be closed properly because there are no buttons. She changed her black boots for brown suede boots. I can't remember she wore these boots during winter. The color is good and they look comfortable.

With respect... there is nothing "stupid" about the work of top-tier UK milliner Juliette Botterill, whose creations have been long been worn by Zara and other British royal ladies. I believe that what you were really trying to say, is that this is a hat whose design you don't like.
As for the bags you mention, they are not even Hermes, either fake or real. They are very obviously Holland Cooper -- as can be seen by the large gold logo forming the clasp on the front. The woman on the far right in the group photo is featured in this entire outfit, including bag, on the Holland Cooper website - as is the 3-piece pantsuit worn by the tall blonde. https://www.hollandcooper.com/collections/the-race-day-edit

The bags are bad copies of Hermes handbags, which are known by more people and in all parts of the world than the Holland Cooper bags!

  10. The two ladies in the 3rd photo, I love their coats! Though the short skirt the blond lady is wearing, further down in photos, not very appealing, too short, looks a tad too snug a fit.
Zara looks impeccably groomed, Love the coat, style and color. Her accessory game is always perfect, the bag, boots, gloves and hat, love! She looks very stylish, chic and elegant.
The Princess Royal, fabulous outfit, love the boots! Her green coat looks of very good quality and warm! love the colorful silk scarf adding color to the green coat. I love this shade of green.
Queen Camilla's coat, I don't like the stitching used as an addition.

Very elegant, Queen Camilla, but I wish you would improve your posture, very visible in practically every photo, I am surprised that nobody has given you advice in this respect. I could be more specific but wish to be polite.

      @ Virginia
You are doing it again. Now you have critics on an older woman's posture. She has my age and women of our age have artrosis which by moments can be very painful. At our age it is sometimes difficult to keep a good posture if you have to stand right up for a longer time.

@Virginia - rather a personal comment and vague - what specifically could you add? There may several reasons why Q.Camilla does not have the posture you request - age, injury, osteoarthritis etc.etc. I am sure many contributors, myself included, can empathise with that.
Personally, I think all the ladies, with one exception, look lovely wearing clothes that suit them and their personality. Ladies Day at Cheltenham races is all about fun, fashion and a little frivolity!

Camilla looks best IMO. Anne is her usual self, nothing exciting (nor did one expect anything exciting from her anyway). Mrs Middleton has now turned 71 and she probably acquired her coat a number of years back - it is pulling badly across her stomach, never understood why some women prefer tight clothes that make them look like a sausage. Kate’s hat was a good choice for this coat.

Zara looks alright but her coat is also pulling (albeit much less so than Carole’s). Colour combination isn’t particularly appealing to me, but her stylist is good at finding coordinating accessories.

Pictures from Friday’s race show the real winners on the fashion side for this year’s event (and other than Jade Cooper, there are plenty of really stylish racegoers - none of them royals I’m afraid).

Carole Middleton is only 71 years old. We just celebrated the 71st birthday of my sister in law. She is looking much younger than Carole Middleton. Of course we do not dress like the ladies on these pictures. We are wearing clothes that make us look younger. We are not wearing hats like those we see here (there are some exceptions but not many). If we have to be dressed up we are wearing brighter and lighter colors. If we have to be outside on the grass we are wearing up-to-date boots or shoes with thicker soles like worn with the wider pant style (see Queen Letizia and daughters) If a pant suit is too thin to have it warm enough, we are wearing a matching puffed coat on top of it. We are wearing the most fashionable handbags (Italian, French, ...) we can find in the color of our pant suit or a matching classic color. Our make-up is adapted to our age. Not too much and not too dark. Our hair is done for the occasion by our hairdresser. Almost no older women are wearing long hair like young girls or young women. Those who cannot say good bye to their long hair in general are looking older too. Short grey hair can look good on a certain type of woman (Jamie Lee Curtis style). Those who prefer short but not too short hair are usually trying to find the color of their natural hair before it became grey. It takes time to find and try some things out, but the result is worth it.

@16:19 - it must be wonderful to be so perfect, THEN you said you wear puffer coats!!!! A real fashion statement - to be avoided by anyone unless on a ski slope.
