Over the past 100 years, Fredensborg Palace Church has been the setting for several royal confirmations. Both Queen Margrethe and King Frederik X were confirmed here in 1955 and 1981, respectively. Most recently, the confirmations of Crown Prince Christian in 2021 and Princess Isabella in 2022 took place at the church. When Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine are confirmed on April 18, the royal chaplain, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen, will officiate the ceremony. On this occasion, Princess Josephine wore a lace blouse by ME+EM. The blouse had previously been worn on several occasions by her mother, Queen Mary.

I agree nothing wrong with this, they have been brought up in this faith it is something the family does together. Being forced is not an appropriate statement, you don’t know how these young people feel.

The photo at the bottom of Mary reminds us that we all can look pretty bad and even not like ourselves in photos. We compare ourselves quite naturally to famous people such as Mary who we generally seeing extraordinary in photos… but this is mostly because the photographers take thousands of photos and only publish/sell the very next, most commonly having edited even the best of them.

    1. ... you find that photo so terrible??

Hi Coralie, no not terrible, but definitely it’s an imperfect, unsmiling Mary and we nearly only see her perfect and smiling. It just reminded me of how in a way we hero worship these beautiful royal women, but they will have SO many ordinary moments … just not in the photos we see! A reminder not to compare ourselves harshly to perfected photos!

Funny, I don’t see Mary or Fred in Josephine…she just looks like Josephine and she’s quite pretty. Same with Vincent..he’s very handsome but doesn’t look like either Mary of Fred. Both are an attractive mix of both parents in my opinion.

The blouse by ME + EM is perfect for Princess Josephine. It looks also good on Queen Mary. Nice that mother and daughter can exchange clothes.

Hard to imagine the twins have already reached confirmation age (15) - it seems like only yesterday that their birth was announced.

Fashion wise, I love prince Vincent's suit.
