King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark are on a six-day state visit to Australia. On the sixth day of their state visit to Australia, the King and Queen arrived in Hobart, Tasmania, where they were officially welcomed by the Governor of Tasmania, Barbara Baker, and her husband, Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers, at Government House in Hobart. At Government House, the King and Queen also met the Governor’s border collie dogs, Oskar and Nala.

The Governor and Professor Chalmers accompanied the King and Queen at the smoking ceremony. The King and Queen then visited Alum Cliffs Marine Reserve and INCAT Shipyard in Hobart.

Welcome back home as Queen Mary of Denmark!!
I can hardly Imagine how proud of you all of the Australians must be!!
As for the fashion review, not even necessary at this point, Mary has looked smashing throughout this trip and she is perfectly attired yet again at the last stop of her journey, just like her husband, King Frederick.
Great pics, lovely people and adorable dogs.
I hope she will have some spare time to reunite with her dear father and family.
    That's for your, Mary:👍👍👏👏💯

  3. The printed dress is really pretty and feminine but I'm not liking the shape of the lapels of the RL jacket. They are too big, floppy and messy looking. I don't think the design is suitable for linen which is a lightweight fabric. A sturdier fabric might work better. Same for the pockets.

This is a multiple rewear on Mary and each time I remember she combined it with a beige/sand coloured jacket, once even with a hat in the same olour like the jacket. Had she not done it, I probably would have written, that I don't like the dress ... as is frequently the case with a long dress covered in an allover pattern - too much for me. Maybe Mary feels similarly, anyway, the combination is fantastic, she has near-artistic qualities, AKA excellent taste, in combinations. - A rare praise for Frederik, because this double-breasted jacket fits better (or, it is more difficult to put your arms behind your back and thus pull the jacket front asunder on your breast :-).

Frederick always looks more relaxed when he stands naturally and doesn't revert to the stance of hands behind the back, especially when he also puts his feet apart (see pic 6). Both of these postures are part of the "stand at ease" drill he would have learned in military training. For him it's probably an unconscious response, but I prefer to see him as in Pic 5 where he looks more effortless, and less formal -- less "bodyguard on duty". And his jackets definitely hang better too. Lyra

Again a light brown/dark beige dress. I didn't like the combination with the jacket and the brown belt the first time and still don't like it today. King Frederik seems to wear a more formal pant suit. On picture N° 6 however one can see the trousers are too long. As he is wearing his trousers rather slim he should not wear them too long.

I dont' think she needed the necklace and I see it's gone in the later photos.

Le collier est un cadeau et elle le porte par politesse. Frederik a reçu le même (photo 1).

  8. How fabulous for Queen Mary to be able to make an official visit to her home state. I agree with P the original that the Australians should be very proud of her. Having said that, she might have managed something more show stopping for the occasion rather than this bland outfit.

  9. This tour has been wonderful. Melbourne, Sydney, Tasmania, the royal couple have been really enthusiastically welcomed, its been lovely to see. Queen Mary, especially is much loved here and very much respected. The tour personally for me has been a welcome distraction from ongoings in the world. The King has given some really splendid speeches, I have loved.
The Maxi print dress is very flattering, I particularly love the skirt of the dress, lovely volume and movement. The jacket blends well and fits perfectly. I like the color of her bag, and sandals. The earrings are pretty.
