On March 3, 2026, Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko of Japan visited the Japan Academy Hall in Ueno, Tokyo, to attend the award ceremony of the 16th Ikushi Prize, established by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) to support young researchers. The prize is awarded to doctoral students, and 19 recipients in their 20s and 30s were selected this year.
The Ikushi Prize was established in 2010 after Emperor Emeritus Akihito made a donation to the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science to create a fund supporting young researchers pursuing their studies amid challenging economic conditions.

ReplyDeleteBoth suits are a good colour for her. The suit in the 4th photo has a different jacket and the prince’s tie is also different
ReplyDeleteIt’s always the same suit. The lighting is different.
DeleteI do find the lighter shade of blue a very attractive color. Her pearl necklace and brooch adding some interest to this outfit.
ReplyDeleteI am looking at photos of two different suits in similar colors - both lovely for CP Kiko. I prefer the jacket with the three buttons - it appears to fit her better. Both are elegant.
ReplyDeleteNice dress lovely color. Both are smiling at this event. The CP is usually very stoic.
