Ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium hosted a lunch at Laeken Castle for eight women who are making a difference in their respective fields, ranging from medicine and sport to education and justice.
The invited guests were: Dr Sofie Claerhout, Ms Michèle George, Ms Véronique Jacobs, Ms Caroline Lamarche, Ms Ellen Moons, Ms Christina Scheppelmann, Ms Tine Suykerbuyk, and Ms Kristel Verbeke. For the occasion, Queen Mathilde wore a light-blue dress by Natan.
Natan Dalida Dress

Pretty color, like the neckline on this dress. There were a couple of Natan necklines that didn't work so well, but this one drapes nicely. Christine
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree with you.

Lovely colored outfit, she looks immaculate.
ReplyDeleteLove Mathilde's dress, nice style; her hair always looks elegant(Tara)
ReplyDeleteI can agree with your comment : "her hair always looks elegant". However we read, occasionally or rather often, negative comments on her hair. I understand some colleagues don't like this more sophisticated hair styling, but prefer the more simple style as recently at the winter olympic games.
DeleteThis dress looks beautiful, the color is sublime. Love the neckline of this dress, its unique and very flattering. She looks very elegant. Her hair looks soft and natural.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree: such élégance!
DeleteAgree. Queen Mathilde looks great. Simple and elegant outline in a lovely colour. It also would appear that either she has lost some weight or the dress has been altered as it’s a much more flattering fit than the last time she wore it.
DeleteI like the light colour, but I love the dark blue much more. It diverts attention from a lot of things. I also like the neckline and shoulder detail draping of this Natan dress.

Wonderful sofa, chairs and the whole environment - sorry, this time this was what cathced my eyes the most.
ReplyDeleteSame here, Masha!
DeleteNot only the Royal Palace in Brussels has had a lot of renovations, also in the Castle of Laeken King Philippe since he became king has ordered to do renovation works. It has been said that King Philippe is also going to auctions like Sotheby's, Christie's, etc...when he knows there is furniture that once stood in the Castle or Palace is sold. The Goya room (with paintings by the famous painter) in the Royal Palace is also renovated. I see that the walls in this room at the Castle in Laeken are covered with beautiful tapestry, the tapestry work on the chairs might also be repaired... I know there are rooms in the castle where the walls have been repainted in dark colors like navy. The white doors and window frames are coming out much better know.
DeleteUn grand choix de couleurs pour cette journée particulière !
ReplyDeleteI like Queen Mathilde in this dress which was new in 2025. In the ready to wear collection of Natan, the dress can be obtained only in navy and white. QM's dress is made according her own measurements in a color of her choice.
ReplyDeleteToday the color of the dress looks more like turquoise. In the last photo next to the model the dress looks more light blue. This picture is taken last year because Queen Mathilde's hair is done differently than today. I think she has also lost a bit of weight and maybe she might have made the same dress in turquoise.
This is a nice dress and color. Nice look for Q Mathilde.
