On February 5, 2026, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Lambeth Palace to formally meet the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally, after she assumed office as the first woman to lead the Church of England. Lambeth Palace is the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury. For the occasion, the Princess wore a bespoke coat by Catherine Walker and a brown midi dress by Edeline Lee.

ردحذفThe shoulders on the coat are simply ridiculous, they don't enhance anybody's looks, quite irrespective of body build. They remind me of those silly pointed ears of aliens in some movies. Also don't really like these brown tones together (and I am silent about the third brown tone), this is not really tone-in-tone, just gloomy. Dress and coat could each profit from a combination with a lighter colour, I would not wear them together.
ردحذفThe pointy shoulders of the coat are not beautiful. The dress on itself is beautiful, but too long as usual. Princess Catherine is wearing a lot of brown clothes lately. One could ask "How many brown coats, dresses, skirts, trousers, etc... a lady needs ?". Brown is fashion this winter, but will it still be fashion next autumn and winter ? Better not to buy too many things in this color in the same colour.

I like the fitted coat with the long lapels and sharp shoulders. The dress is also nice but, as others have said, the two together are very dull. I note the Archbishop shares Queen Camilla’s penchant for wearing boots indoors!
ردحذفThis is a very brown outfit, but I guess a more subdued color palette is suitable for the meeting. I don’t care for the shoulders of the coat, or for the long length of the coat when worn open with a dress while inside. Catherine really has a lot of coats!

The dress having no sleeves I'm wondering if the Princess wore the long jacket for warmth? I love the fact the long jacket and dress are the same length. I adore the brown tones. The light chocolate colored hose looks great, combined with her chocolate colored suede shoes, perfect. The addition of the necklace is a welcome addition, I find this necklace attractive and appealing. I think the disk has a sprinkle of diamonds. I saw it elsewhere.

Oh I love this combination and especially the beautiful flare on the dress which I find has a very elegant length. The lighter brown of the dress contrasts beautifully with the rich chocolate coat. I would get a lot of wear if I had the money to buy such a beautiful coat.
ردحذفI agree. I tend to find her dresses, coats and hair too long too, but with this outfit it all works out for me. The shoulder accent and the specific cut of the coat create shape. The dress adds volume. One of her better looks recently, for me. The different tones of brown work well together with her hair too.

حذفI agree with 08.05 and 03.07. Both the coat and dress are bespoke, Catherine had long sleeves added to the dress which fluted at the cuffs because of the bias cut. The textured material added extra interest. The medallion was a heart made of recycled gold.

ردحذفI agree, colouring long hair changes the texture, and is not becoming. Shoulder length suits her better imo.
حذفKate has the BEST coats! Her wardrobe is getting predicable but I love her coats! If I had to dress up as much as she does I would experiment with styles and fabrics as well. Someone mentioned the shoulder pads in this coat being exaggerated but I think it's more the coat is fitted for her tiny waist which makes the shoulders stand out. Beautiful look.
ردحذفI’m in the camp that layering four browns all together comes across as dull. She loves monochromatic dressing, and it can be sophisticated, but this outfit looks thrown together. An interesting necklace would have add some contrast.
