On February 11, 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presented the 2023 and 2024 National Sports Awards, which honour athletes, associations, organisations, and individuals who have distinguished themselves through the promotion and development of physical education and sport. The award ceremony took place at the Royal Palace of El Pardo.
The awards have been organised annually since 1982 by the Higher Sports Council (CSD) with the aim of recognising athletes, public and private entities, federations, clubs, associations, and professionals who have made outstanding contributions to Spanish and international sport. The Royal Order of Sporting Merit, established on 18 June 1982, is a Spanish civil order of merit and represents one of the highest honours granted by the State in the field of sport.

ReplyDeleteLucky Queen Letizia stopped to wear black or very dark clothes. Her dress is made of a beautiful red fabric and suits her very well. A pity she cannot wear these beautiful red shoes anymore. I wonder what happens to all her high heels. If one of her 2 daughters has the same shoe size as her mother she can choose from a big collection of beautiful high heels. If none of them has the same size, I wonder if the shoes are sold second hand or are given away for charity ?
ReplyDeleteI noticed that her girls tend to use lower heels too, which is wonderful, to learn from mum’s foot story and not to end up with the same problem. Save the high heels for very special occasions and look after the feet every day.
