On Thursday, 12 February, 400 representatives from politics, business, and the volunteer sector attended the opening of the International Year of the Volunteer 2026 in the host city of Utrecht. Queen Máxima performed the official opening at the Stadsschouwburg theatre in Utrecht. This year’s theme is “the Power of Action.”
The International Year of the Volunteer was proclaimed by the United Nations in recognition of the indispensable role volunteers play in strengthening social cohesion, promoting livelihood security, and building a just, resilient, and sustainable society. Volunteers make a significant contribution to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

ReplyDeleteI find the design is odd in that the seams seem to be the feature to give interest to an otherwise strange drape to the fabric. That is a Natan go to use of fabric.
DeleteThe green jumper and grey I can assume its a skirt. Another pair of colors I have never put together before, it works here, nice color combination. The snake/serpent necklace is very effective. The grey shoes and clutch work in well. The hat suits her, I think slightly darker than her skirt.

DeleteNothing is working here; the grey does not match with the green!, the snake is weird, the oversized hat and extra high heels were not necessary!
ReplyDeleteI think it’s a great outfit actually. That forest green with grey and navy is beautiful; the colours marry very well. I love the big hat and think it suits her face beautifully. I agree that these shoes are very high - Mary wears the same and I think they distort the leg/foot and would prefer a shorter heel .
DeleteMaxima is altijd betrokken en geïnteresseerd, maar haar koninklijke kleding is het meestal net niet. De sportieve top gecombineerd met deze gedateerde hoed vind ik echt potsierlijk. Ze blijft erg hangen in een look, die niet meer bij haar en in deze tijd past. Natan aan de kant en een meer eigentijdse gevarieerde kleding collectie samenstellen is de hoogste tijd!

DeleteInderdaad tuttig en ouwelijk, die malle hoed is echt niet meer van deze tijd, hupsakee weg ermee. Van mij hoeft ze niet in een degelijk tenue te verschijnen, het zijn andere tijden, een koninginnen outfit mag anno nu wel moderner en frisser, past ook meer bij haar persoonlijkheid denk ik zo.

ReplyDeleteTop made out of green cardboard at a design competition called SQU (for simple, quick and ugly). The animal is there because it is Máxima. But I love her anyway.
ReplyDeleteNot at all, the top is made of a scuba fabric, which asks for a sportive look. If she had skipped the hat and wore grey pants with the top, it would have been better. As well as she was dressed in the caramel colored suit and cable sweater at the winter olympics in Cortina as bad coordinated she is dressed here. I have no problems with the colors, green mixed with grey. To me these are 2 colours I've seen many ladies with. Grey is a neutral color which can be worn with many other colors like yellow (mustard), pink, turquoise blue, olive green, etc...

ReplyDeleteAccording he Natan website, the fabric of the Bunty top is double faced crepe. Does the word scuba have a different meaning in Italian than in English? Can we walk through this please? Would the woolen mill be the one calling it's double faced crepe scuba? Chris
ReplyDelete@ 00.58 it doesn`t really matter what material has been used in the execution, imo, the style is still boxy and quite unattractive. I agree with many comments made about Maxima being caught in a fashion time-warp. To me she often comes across as trying too hard to be noticed, the hat is too large for an indoor socialising event, the snake looks like silly costume jewellery, the skirt and top are not complimentary in either colour or style.
