Queen Mary Receives Ticket Sellers from the Children’s Aid Foundation

On February 20, 2026, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Lillebror Lottery, Queen Mary of Denmark received Caroline, Oskar, and Director Sofie Hugo from the Children’s Aid Foundation (Børnehjælpsdagen) at Frederik VIII’s Palace, Amalienborg, to purchase the first lottery tickets of the year. Queen Mary is patron of the Children’s Aid Foundation.

Each year, associations, clubs, and school classes go door to door selling lottery tickets and raising funds for the Children’s Aid Foundation, which works to support and strengthen children and young people in care throughout Denmark.

The Children’s Aid Foundation is a nationwide, non-political charitable organization that has worked to improve children’s conditions in Denmark since 1904. It supports children and young people in care and those in vulnerable situations who live in residential institutions, with foster families, or in aftercare in Denmark.
