  1. I like the blouse, the metallic buttons and the dusty blue colour of the silk fabric. I had never heard of Antik Batik before. I took a look at their website. They have some very interesting items although they are pricey. This shirt is almost $500.00! Their garments are very artistic and more on the Boho or Bohemian style. Letizia's blouse is quite conservative in comparison.

345 € are $406, not almost 500. It is not cheap, when she wears Zara, people say that is very cheap.

Thanks for the conversion. I didn't mention the price in relation to Letizia.
I was speaking more from the point of view of the average person.
$400 to $500 is a lot of money for a blouse.

Price has nothing to do with fashion and choices. Quality usually mean more expensive

16:25 “price has nothing to do with fashion and choices “?! … I see it the opposite. Fashion is predominantly a profit business, most especially fast fashion, and price absolutely dictates how much people can own, what they can choose, what they can wear. The price is a key component of fashion.

Re Sandra’s comment that this blouse is expensive, agree! Especially in Australian dollar ( she did not specify which dollar and there are quite a few around the world of course). It is a neat blouse but I don’t find it special, so I also think it’s a crazy price! When a garment is special I can understand the price more. Letizia has a very good mix of low priced garments and some expensive ones (eg yesterday’s dress), which I admire her for. She could just stick to very pricy labels and does not. Doesn’t stop me thinking whhhhoa when I see a $595 shirt! (The Australian dollar price).

Anon 20:19..the price IS in Euros, not in dollars, not American or Australian or whatever...345 for a French , the brand IS from France IS not so expensive, there people have more expensive brands.

Eur345 IS an expensive blouse. Aud595 IS an expensive blouse. They have an international website and the blouse is expensive.

345 Euro is indeed expensive for a blouse. For that price I buy the most beautiful long winter coat. Usually Queen Letizia buys her clothes in street style shops where the prices are not expensive. Once and a while she buys more expensive brands like Carolina Herrera and Hugo Boss. Antik Batik is a brand I don't know yet. If they ask such a high price for a blouse that is not even beautiful, I will never buy something of that brand.

  2. Belle allure dans cette chemise bleu pâle qui aurait été mieux combinée avec un pantalon noir !

I agree price is not relevant on this blog.

Because price is an integral component of fashion. It’s a fair point to make. Why get bothered by discussion of this component is my return question, chère 16:47?

    3. As I stated earlier, I did not mention it regarding Letizia. I was stating my own opinion as an ordinary person that I found the blouse very expensive.

Why would price not be relevant?! As said above, it’s an integral component of being able to wear a garment!

Letizia‘s blouse is made of silk and expensive, who cares, but she looks boring and undistinguished nonetheless.

Nice combination. But $500.- for a blouse is a bit steep for me.

Price DOES have to do with choices for many people who still love fashion. I shop at premium outlets in the USA and find many good designers at more reasonable prices with quality fabrics, i.e. Theory. Like the classics. Queen Letizia has a stunning figure and wears most everything very well. She tends to mix more chic casual in with her elegant wardrobe and keeps her wardrobe interesting and at various price levels. Love the soft looking blouse and her shoes.

      Dear @ Virginia Dogwood.
I too prefer to visit physical shops
(I need to touch the quality and try on what I set my eyes on) and, yes, I happened to buy even designer clothes at more reasonable prices than the ones shown on their websites/ catalogues.
Theory pieces are an excellent choice
(sometimes worn by Princess Marie too).
I love both classic and more creative clothes.
I love experimenting new fashion dimensions, especially as far as evening wear is concerned.
      I concur re: Queen Letizia.
      Cheers.

  9. The pants are a very good fit, great length and nice width. The blouse is nice, but a bit bland.

There’s a derogatory comment made by Anonymous signing off as Virginia - and then a complimentary comment by a signed in Virginia… is someone acting as someone else here?

I do not know who Virginia @ 19:23 is. I see her posts often. She is different from me. I live on the West Coast of USA and I'm Virginia Dogwood. If I don't like something, I try to give a good reason why. I'm a lover of classic, traditional clothing and consider that look more elegant . I like French designs as I find them usually (not always) quite chic. I get very good suggestions by many of our bloggers for creative styling and that is part of what this blog should also be about -- not just critiquing the royals. Granted royal ladies appear to have very large budgets, so I expect more from the them, as they can well afford a good stylist, where many like myself cannot. Thanks to Helen for keeping this blog relevant.

I usually like Queen Letizia minimalist taste. I don't like this one. It's bland and the colors make her look washed out. A fail for me.
