Last week, Prince Abdul Mateen, son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, and his wife, Princess Anisha, announced the birth of their first child. Today, the couple shared the first photo of their newborn daughter and revealed her name. Their daughter has been named Zahra Mariam Bolkiah. Zahra is an Arabic name meaning brilliance, splendor, and flower.
Prince Abdul Mateen posted a photograph of himself, his wife, and their newborn daughter on his Instagram account, writing: “Our daughter, Zahra Mariam Bolkiah. My wife Anisha and I are deeply grateful to the incredible team at JPMC for their exceptional care and support, and we sincerely thank everyone for their kind wishes.”
Hadn’t heard of them before. Don’t feature high in world royalty reporting! Hope they do well with their babe and are happy, no doubt assisted by as many nannies/ maids / etc as they need.
ردحذفThey both live a rather unassuming life in London most of the time. When in Brunei, they are surrounded by much more splendour, of course. But the couple does not live there permanently. While they might have a nanny (or not, we just don't know and should not jump to conclusions), or some other help, they are both known for not being ostentatious. Though they had been part of a lavish wedding ceremony, thrown, of course, by His Majesty The Sultan of Brunei, father of Prince Mateen, they do not display any such wealth in their every day lives. The second name of the baby, btw. is also the name of Prince Mateen's mother, Hajah Mariam.
