New Portrait of Princess Astrid of Norway Released on Her 94th Birthday

Today, Princess Astrid of Norway turns 94 years old. Princess Astrid was born on 12 February 1932. She is the daughter of King Olav V and Crown Princess Märtha and remains an active representative of the Royal House. In the portrait, Princess Astrid is wearing the turquoise jewellery set that originally belonged to Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdom and was later inherited by her daughter, Queen Maud of Norway.

Princess Astrid is also wearing the Order of St. Olav and several Royal Family Orders of her grandfather, her father, and her brother, displayed over a light, flowing white dress adorned with stars. The portrait was taken by photographer Ola Vatn at the Royal Palace in Oslo.
