A gorgeous sapphire color for the Queen, but the cut of the top of the dress is overpowering and not flattering to her figure. I think we've seen this dress before. A simple and classic design is so much more flattering to her silhouette.

The top of the dress is designed the same way as the white top she wore on January 15 at the reception for NATO. She wore the dress at earlier new year's receptions in 2024 or 2025. Shoes and clutch are in classic black and the earrings by Percosi Papi have partly the same color as the dress.
I noticed lately that events which take place in the presence of the king and/or queen are no longer announced longtime before the date. I wonder if it is due to a change by the security responsables.

Gorgeous color. This is one of those colors that would look good on anyone. I don't hate the cut or design but ... I'm just not sure. No offense to her majesty but, I just wonder if this might look better on a younger person. Hmm. But at least she didn't go OTT and wear too much jewelry, or the wrong kind of jewelry, or try to wear a coat over the top. She is letting the dress make the statement.

What a beautiful colour of dress, however the cut lets the outfit down!

Great colour, nice fit, the top is okay, not my taste. Seems to be a Natan design the way the fabric is draped

I think we've seen this dress in an off-white or beige. It was different, and likable, but a person doesn't need one in each color. Chris

      @ Chris
She has only this dress in blue. More information you can find in my comment @ Anon 23:51

Royal blue is a good color on Mathilde, but the cut and fit of this dress are not flattering on her, especially the odd top of the bodice with lots of folded fabric in front and a scooped back.

The dress is not good around her neck, but her hair is lovely.

  10. The color of this dress is sublime. Sapphire/royal blue? I love the top half, the cut and style, it adds interest and is different. The dress, imo fits well. I like the color of her accessories. Her hair looks beautiful, soft and natural.

Not sure if backless is appropriate for this type of event ..

Sorry but this is not backless, shoulderless yes. Since it is a rewear from former new year receptions and nobody found it not appropriate then, I do not see why she couldn't wear it now. If she wears dresses with a high neckline she receives comments that she should wear a V-neckline or a deeper round neckline.

  14. The top of the dress is excessively original ? Could be, however I like it. She seems to like it very much.

beautiful colour and 10 out 10 for her hair, but sorry the dress to me, looks like a short bolero worn back to front, especially as her back is bare.

No - she put a weird design on correctly. Natan the designed sells consistently weird necklines!

I love the colour of the dress, the front is special but OK, but the back side, is not nice.
