King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are visiting Värmland. During the visit, on the evening of February 26, 2026, the King and Queen attended the premiere of Selma, staged by Wermland Opera, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The opera portrays the life of Selma Lagerlöf and is based in part on preserved correspondence. The work was created by the Värmland-born composer Mats Larsson Gothe and playwright Maria Sundqvist.

Selma Lagerlöf was a lesbian writer, who got the Nobel prize in 1909.

Delete(NB these seems more relevant details to me than the above stated)
So the fact that she was a lesbian is the most important thing to you? Not that she was one of Sweden's greatest writers?
DeleteIncidentally, I thought this was a royal fashion blog and not about gossip.
This royal couple is ageless…they look sophisticated and fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like Queen Sylvia's black jacket, but sequeens on the trousers is not necessary for me. I'd prefer black plain trousers in a beautiful wool crepe or crepe in general.
ReplyDeleteI love her cape, very classy.
ReplyDeleteSilvia has the most amazing hair - for any age!
