On January 29, 2026, Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the 2026 working meeting of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases (FEDER) at the organisation’s headquarters in Madrid. During the meeting, the Queen was informed about the organisation’s main challenges, progress, and lines of action looking ahead to 2030.
Throughout the meeting, the achievements and challenges facing the Federation were discussed, as the present and future of rare diseases are shaped by the daily lives of children, adolescents, and families who live without a diagnosis, face complex treatments, and encounter difficulties in keeping up with education, social life, or employment.
