On January 21, 2026, Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands attended the National Reading Breakfast, which marked the official kick-off of National Reading Days 2026, at the Amsterdam Public Library (OBA), Reigersbos location. During the event, the Princess read aloud from “Little Monkey” (Kleine Aap), which was selected as Picture Book of the Year 2026 by a committee of librarians, booksellers, and teachers.

Laurentien’s style is not mine, but she has a beautiful smile that lights up her face, and likely, the whole room. The lady in blue and yellow seems to have tossed a cord jacket casually over an unironed chambray shirt and black trousers or jeans, and looks a million dollars! Her earrings in blue and enormous smile turn simple clothes into a fabulous outfit, a bit in the bold style of Maxima.

ReplyDeleteThis outfit is well put together and looks stylish. Its not my style, but my the Princess wears this so well. She has confidence and panache to pull it off successfully.
ReplyDeleteTo me she tries too hard to look `boho chic`. The jacket may be designer but looks Primark, and the rest of her outfit looks as though she has raided a charity shop. Overall look is a mess, not individualistic at all. Like The Emperor`s New Clothes, is she being plauded for who she is rather than the reality?
ReplyDeleteShe is not a bad looking lady but she chooses most of the time clothes which doesn't fit well or are in bad colors. Her hairstyle is looking better than before. At least she has a normal short haircut now. She has always a beautiful smile.

ReplyDeleteShe is a not a real working princess for the Royal Family and her husband is not a working prince for his family. They both have a job and their 4 children except the eldest daughter are still studying, I think. If you run a 2nd hand clothing shop with your daughter, you do not have a lot of money left to pay for a stylist. She is her own stylist and perhaps the stylist for people who are buying clothes in the shop.
