On January 27, 2026, the residents and staff of the Hamm Hospice welcomed Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie, accompanied by Minister Max Hahn, the President of the Civil Hospices of the City of Luxembourg (VdL), Henri Grethen, and the Alderman of the City of Luxembourg, Corinne Cahen.
During their visit, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess were given a presentation of the various services offered by the Hospice and met with residents of the intensive care unit. The residential care facility for the elderly was modernised in 2014, with the aim of providing better support for people living with dementia-related conditions.
Now that is a nice outfit she is wearing.

ReplyDeleteStephanie never looked better. I think it seems to be a “uniform” she’s comfortable in - blouse untucked, neat trousers, low classy shoes - and she looks marvellous in it.
ReplyDeleteThis would have been a lovely visit by the royal couple. Very uplifting for the patients, not to mention the staff. The blue blouse is a pretty color. Wondering if the pants are black or Navy? they appear to be a good fit.

I tend to think her pants are navy blue coloured , most probably coordinated with navy shoes and clutch.
This visit wasn't less of a success imo.
P the original. Yes thank you for that. I come across another article and you are right it was Navy colored. Agree, very successful. I feel the royal couple have a real natural sincerity about them. There interactions and mannerisms. The GD Stephanie has that type of smile, genuine.
DeleteI am a Grand Duchess Stephanie fan, but this look is too casual for her new position. The trousers and shoes are fine, but the blouse is simply not elegant enough.

DeleteI think GrDss Stephanie knows which style she wants to have/to keep, even if it is not always what we would have accepted. Gradually it will be recognised that it fits her quite well.
DeleteTo put it clear: I agree with Virginia. I also like Stephanie very much but that does not mean I can't critizise her outfit.
DeleteStephanie looks wonderful here--everything fits so well and. her hair style is lovely. I am on the fence about this choice of outfit for a visit in which her husband is wearing a tie. Guillaume seems to be more formally dressed while Stephanie looks much more casual. I will say that I am certain she understands what is appropriate dress for everything she does and perhaps the photos don't the quality of her clothing that would add that perceived element of her outfit being too casual.

She looks beautiful. Would elegant shoes, a belt, shirt tucked in, and gorgeous earrings elevate her outfit enough to satisfy those who think this is too casual?
ReplyDeleteTheir purpose is to visit elderly people and staff in a hospice. An untucked blouse is absolutely fine and not in need of “elevating”.

ReplyDeleteIf you think that the people (most of them are ill or have Alzheimer) in the clinic they are visiting mind about the blouse she is wearing and how she is wearing it.
ReplyDeleteFor another ocassion I think she should try to find an elegant top in a less thinner fabric than her light blue blouse which is not too tight and not too short or too long to wear with her pants. GD Stéphanie's hair looks lovely this way. She looks younger with her hair loose instead of the unflattering up do's she often have.
GD Guillaume didn't learn anything from his father former GD Henri who is always dressed well. It is not because a man is wearing a tie he is dressed more formally. GD Guillaume is wearing red pants, a blue jacket and a lighter blue pull-over underneath. To me his look is casual too.
GD Guillaume's is certainly more colorful and less well tailored than GD Henri's ever was. But can you imagine GD Henri in the same surroundings, warm, caring and approachable and laughing with people and meaning it? Because I most certainly can't and I know what I prefer.
DeleteI've always known GD Henri as a gentle and friendly man to anyone be it children or elder people or people from abroad who came to visit him. GD Guillaume has the same character as GD Maria Teresa. He inherited the latin warmth of his mother. Not everyone can express himself like this but it doesn't mean he/she doesn't care.
