On December 10, 2025, King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Madeleine, and Christopher O’Neill attended the traditional Nobel Prize banquet in the Blue Hall of Stockholm City Hall. Alongside the members of the Royal Family, the prize winners and their families, as well as representatives from the Swedish Government and the Riksdag parties, also attended the banquet.
For the occasion, Queen Silvia wore Queen Sofia’s Nine-Prong Tiara with the Bernadotte Emerald Parure, and the Sash and Star of the Order of the Seraphim. Princess Victoria wore the Baden Fringe Tiara with the Sash and Star of the Order of the Seraphim. Madeleine wore the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara with the Sash and Star of the Order of the Seraphim.

Beautiful Queen and Princesses! They all look lovely! MR
ReplyDeleteAgreed….beautiful gowns, stunning jewels, and gorgeous royal ladies!
DeleteMadeleine est fabuleuse
ReplyDeleteQ and the two p so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteUpon seeing the second set of photos from the evening, I must say that I like Victoria´s dress better, Madeleine´s dress less, and Silvia´s dress a lot less.
ReplyDeleteVictoria looks less pale here, and her dress is a great sculptural design. I just wish the belt had been black and her lips had been red.
Madeleine chose a rather romantic, princessy look again. Her hair is styled similarly princessy, and I like it, but I would have preferred a soft updo. The reason why I like her dress less here is the pointy shoulders which I didn´t see in the photos from the award ceremony.
Silvia´s dress has a regal silhouette, but when seen from the front, it´s not very flattering. The two different textures bother me, and they clash in colour. The skirt with its folds and creases isn´t my cup of tea either. The mustard yellow colour also isn´t the best, but at least she did choose a colour. The group photo would otherwise be rather black-and-white.
Nice analysis Vanessa. Enjoyed your thoughts. Madeleine is superb but Victoria is fascinating and superb. The two Swedish princesses have marvellous postures which makes any outfit 10x more beautiful!
DeleteGreat look for everyone. The Queen brings a little sparkle to the gowns with the golden color. Just wonder what Sofias gown would have looked like. Sadly, she is missing the whole event.

There's a lot to love here. Victoria's dress is stunning. What a wonderful & exciting design, I love it! Now, is it the best match for the sash? Probably not, but points for not just slapping it on but basically making it a design feature.
ReplyDeleteSilvia's dress reminds me of something out of Queen Sonia's gown. It's not terrible but not my favourite. Definitely prefer it without the shawl. Bonus for bringing some colour to the event.
Madeleine is Madeleine. It's very princess-y & she knows it suits her. I feel like we've seen this dress or variations thereof multiple times before.
We for sure had more exciting Nobel looks in the past, but this is solid.

Madeleine´s dress is a reward from 2023 and it is designed by Jenny Packham. Doesn´t P Kate have a similar one?
DeleteCP Victoria is looking very beautiful but not her dress. Sorry the dress is too special for my taste. I wonder if it is not a remake from another black and white dress she has worn at an earlier Noble Prize event.
ReplyDeleteVictoria's gown is from the year 1994 when her mother wore it in the Nobel Prize Banquet. It was beautiful then and it's still very beautiful.
DeleteAnon 00.14; no it’s an old Nobel dress, the Queen wore it 1994
DeleteThx. Zucchina & Anonymous 12:08
DeleteI new I saw something in black and white before, but it cannot be this dress because in 1994 I was not retired yet and didn't had the time to look at the pictures and read the articles of what royal ladies wore on occasions like this. In the meantime I know that CP Victoria is wearing sometimes an old dress which belonged to her mother.
Curious as to whether the Queen has a hair piece to make this style. The reason I ask is because I saw a photo a few years back with same style. This is not a negative just curious
ReplyDeleteOf course she has a hair piece. She doesn't have so much natural hair to make a voluminous hairstyle like this. CP Victoria has a hair piece too in her neck. The color is different from her own hair.
DeleteYes I think so. Not a negative question but an interesting fashion question.
DeleteYes to the hair piece/wig on queen Sylvia. One can see the lace front at the hairline, looks natural but a keen eye can still see it. Nothing wrong with that, saves time getting ready, looks great and besides not many people would have that much hair and certainly not the Queens age.
DeleteDefinitely "extra" hair added on Queen Sylvia. It's a very common thing on the Swedish ladies when they are in their tiaras, and nothing wrong with that either: they alwas have amazing hairstylists doing a wonderful job! But I wonder: if this would be a full wig on Sylvia, would it even be possible to fix a tiara on that? Especially this nine-prong tiara which is very heavy, wouldn't the weight of it make the wig and tiara to just slide off the head?
DeleteElles sont toutes magnifiques divinement bien coiffées - La robe originale de Victoria a ma préférence ; j’aimerais bien connaître le nom de son créateur !
ReplyDeleteJaques Zehnder. Silvia wore the dress 1994.
DeleteLe nom du créateur a été nommé plusieurs fois lors de la "2025 Noble Prize Award Ceremony" qui a eue lieu avant le banquet (voir plus haut).
DeleteIsabella Löwengrip said that "the dresses all looked like dish cloths"! I agree!
ReplyDeleteOk, and who is this Isabella Löwengrip?
DeleteI don't see any "dish cloths" here but I admit that I wonder why Madeleine did not put off her hairdresser cape.
DeleteWho?
DeleteLove the word “ Princessy” Some of you used: So true!
ReplyDeleteVictoria in a special design: great!
Q.Sylvia: beautifull but a bit too much skirt.
The tiara’s: stunning!
Princess Victoria wore the same dress as her mother at the Nobel Prize ceremony in 1994

CP Victoria is wearing a dress of her mother. the Queen wore this dress in 1994 at the Noble Prize event.
ReplyDeleteRoyal ladies look so lovely, each with their own style.
ReplyDeleteWhen I choose my favorite look, then...Princess Madeleine. It's re-wear but with different hairstyle and tiara, she has created new and fresh look. She's looking gorgeous.

I don't think we will see Princess Madeleine with an old dress which belonged to her mother like CP Victoria does. A rewear of her own dress from a couple of years ago yes, but not an old dress. I think she is always overdressed when I compare her to her sister who is the CP after all. She should be grateful to have a sister who is aware of sustainability and has no problems as a future Queen to show that it matters and is important to her. CP Victoria is always happy and in good mood which make her look so beautiful.
DeletePrincess Madeleine has also reworn one of her Mother’s dresses. It was at the reception after her marriage to Chris.
DeleteP Christina and her husband, this couple is not here, why?
ReplyDeleteI admire the fact the CP is rewearing the Queen's gown. I love her brooch and earrings.
ReplyDeleteP. Madeleine looks beautiful wearing the Aquamarine tiara, the aqua stones are a beautiful color and wonderful sized stones, of substance. This tiara suits her beautifully. Not a fan of her gown.
Queen Silvia looks lovely, not a fan of her gown. Her emerald and diamond brooch and earrings are beautiful jewel pieces, lovely addition.
The royal ladies hair styles, up style are interesting and beautifully done, suiting them both. Madeleine looks beautiful with her free flowing hair.
Wonder did the Queen do something to her cheeks, while they were in Brazile. She looks wonderful.

Not a fan of the Q's and Victoria's 1994 dress. Madeleine looks good though. A little ambivalent over the cape, but anyway like the rest of the dress.
