On December 5, 2025, Queen Mary of Denmark attended the launch of the 2025 Community Survey, organised by the Mary Foundation in collaboration with TrygFonden. The Queen delivered the opening speech, highlighting the importance of community. The event took place at Store VEGA in Copenhagen and included a presentation of the survey results, keynote talks, a panel discussion, and musical performances.
The 2025 Community Survey provides new insight into how Danes participate in social and everyday communities, with particular focus on factors that help prevent social exclusion. For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a virgin wool pinstriped blazer suit by Dolce & Gabbana.

ردحذفA very very chic look. The first photo is European winter perfection with the bag, the colours, the shoes (flat loafers would have worked very well too). Dark grey wool and black is so nice to wear and looks absolutely terrific. Possibly the roll neck sweater is sleeveless? as otherwise that could be a too warm outfit for indoors. And yet, as I look down the photo sequence I find that that belt on the suit changes even the proportion of someone very model-like proportioned such as Mary and gives the image of very high waist and therefore very long hips. So although the touch of belt is elegant and Mary is quite a belt wearer often adding one over dresses and skirts when they were not intended by the designer, I think this may be more flattering with no belt. Or at least look as good with slightly better proportions.

حذفIt is not because Queen Mary favours black clothes that every other Queen in Europe is wearing a lot of black. So I should say it is not normal in a European winter. In Europe we wear all the cosy colors which are coming together with Autumn and Winter like burgundy, bottle green, coffee, aubergine, mauve, purple, midnight blue, royal blue and also white, cream, etc...Oh and I forgot there is now and then a bit of burnt orange left from last winter and a bit of dark yellow too.

ردحذفThis is a very subtle "less is more" design. There is just a little design there at the waist, but it cannot be overseen. The jacket has belt loops (not sure if this is the right word), but I don't really see if she used them.
ردحذفHer hair is massive. It gives a certain impression. A royal bunch of hair wonderfull at her age! And looking younger and better with age.

It can be a beautiful suit, but as long as she is going to wear black, I've decided not to write comments anymore. On the pictures one can hardley see what she is wearing I see nothing else but black, black, black and black.
ردحذفWell this is soft grey wool and black, not all black. It’s very normal and very elegant especially in the north of Europe where the days are short and the need for cosyness is high. Which country are you from dear commenter? Perhaps you have a different clothes culture, but Mary is spot on for Scandinavia.

I have no problems with colours, also not with black in summer or white in winter . And another point is that black is more beautiful in life than on photographs. The black/white photo with black background is of course mightily suboptimal - with another background it could be impressive. But she looks fabulous in dark colours too.

حذفI should have said "I've decided not to write comments anymore, from now on" I knew someone would come with the excuse of wearing white in winter and black in summer. O.K. but if I have to look every time I see a picture of a Queen at someone who is dressed every day in black, I prefer to wait until that Queen decided to wear other colors too.
Queen Mary looks beautiful! I think this suit is perfectly fitted for her and quite elegant. I also like her hair--the soft curls are a perfect counterpoint to the business look she is wearing.

The black suit needed something to uplift it. A bright or patterned inner top, a scarf, a brooch or necklace. I stil say all black is very boring unless you are going to a funeral. I know many will disagree with me and think it is chic but that's my fashion viewpoint.

ردحذفI’m sure QM has had this suit in her closet for some time. She looks good in it. I wish she’d have gone for a splash of color to lift it,maybe a different colored jumper or a brooch. Either way she looks good.

What impresses me about this pants suit is the small buckle. A large buckle would have been overly dominant on such a plain suit -- but this buckle is discreet and provides just a hint of an accent/focal point. Lyra
