On December 3, 2025, Queen Letizia of Spain visited Salamanca to preside over the meeting of the Royal Board on Disability and to present the Queen Letizia National Disability Awards, held at CRE Alzheimer in Salamanca. The National Disability Awards are granted by the Royal Board on Disability and recognize efforts toward inclusion and the protection of the rights of people with disabilities. Each year, they are personally presented by Queen Letizia of Spain in her role as honorary president.
