King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are undertaking a state visit to the Republic of Suriname at the invitation of President Jennifer Geerlings-Simons. On November 30, 2025, the Dutch King and Queen arrived at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport near Paramaribo. President Simons and her husband will receive the King and Queen during an official welcome ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

I would prefer something more discreet, such as a gold buckle to coordinate with her earrings and braceletsThe buckle aside, I adore the rich texture of this fabric, and the design of the top is interesting indeed. ReplyDeleteShe’s very elegant in this. Because it’s Natan I can’t quite work out the design choices, but none of that’s stopping Maxima looking spectacular. This is the benefit of the official Royal visit (versus her recent solo UN visit to Jakarta); she gets a private plane, space to sleep, space to get ready in a new outfit.

DeleteI don't know how it is in The Netherlands, but when King Philippe and Queen Mathilde have a state visit to a far away country they usually use a plane of the Belgian Defense Forces. Of course it can be considered as a private plane because only the king and queen and their entourage are there and the press and journalists and most of the time the Minister of Foreign Affairs, sometimes the Prime Minister or other high placed governors or state secretaries, etc...

DeleteEr zijn mensen die huishoudelijk werk doen en daar wordt men lichamelijk moe van. Van veel te reizen op korte tijd wordt je ook lichamelijk moe. Daarbij komt nog dat royals met van alles en nog wat rekening moeten houden. Als er van je verwacht wordt dat je er picobello uitziet en dat je op de hoogte bent van de onderwerpen die er zullen besproken worden, daar wordt je ook moe van. En als je niet lichamelijk moe bent maar je geest de ganse dag en een groot deel van de avond steeds alert moet blijven, daar wordt je ook moe van. Nooit gehoord van lichaam en geest werken samen ?
DeleteI would imagine it would be a great deal more difficult to work as a queen than to do housework. When you are doing your housework, you don't have the eyes of the world publicly criticizing you for how you clean your floors or how you were dressed doing it.

It's also getting cold in the northern hemisphere. Time for the European royals to head to the tropics.
DeleteI adore Máxima 's arms, no sleeves would also compensate lesser style choices. But in this case, I quite like this dress (maybe having no sleeves helps) and the fact that she put her hair out of the way. Pity we don't see the back.

ReplyDeleteI like her in this variation of the dress (last picture). A dress which she has too but in another color. It is a 2 piece outfit she is wearing here. I've seen her before in the skirt with a white top. I like her black nubuck shoes with an ankle strap. She is a tall lady so she can wear this shoe type easily.

I like this a lot. It is a contemporary design that looks good on Maxima. The pattern suits the design of the dress. She doesn't have the neckline ruched the way it is on the model, which might look better. The belt buckle is a nice detail and most importantly, the belt itself is not too wide. Her shoes are a nice compliment. The white sweater or wrap, though she is not wearing it, is a distraction and I don't think it works well with the colors of the dress.
ReplyDeleteIt is a white broad scarf she has with her. She usually takes it with her when she is wearing an evening outfit with bare arms and back and she will return late to the hotel. It is not the first time she is visiting these parts of the world, I suppose she knows why she is taken a scarf with her. The color is less important and I really don't see what other color she could have chosen, black ?

Scarves come in a hundred shades; and I can think of a dozen colours, aside from black, which would coordinate well with the dark muted neutral of this outfit - including a muted grey or dusty pink, which would connect well with the fabric colour. ReplyDeleteThe original dress, with sleeves and the fabric belt looks alo't better than the version Maxima is wearing with the buckle, I don't like the back of her dress, regardless of that she wears this dress okay.
