On December 26, 2025, Japanese Crown Prince Fumihito, Crown Princess Kiko, and their children, Princess Kako and Prince Hisahito, visited the exhibition “80 Years After the War: Children and War,” held at the Itabashi Art Museum in Tokyo.
The exhibition “80 Years After the War: Children and War,” features approximately 120 works, including artworks centered on children and picture books for children, created during the wartime period through the immediate aftermath of the war.

DeleteNot sure with Kiki’s outfit, the jacket seems to overwhelm her, even if it is the style. I have never been a fan of double breasted jackets to much fabric and never seems to fit just so.
ReplyDeleteSo you mean Princess Kako. She's the one wearing the double breasted blazer. Her mother is Princess Kiko of Akishino (basically the Crown Princess, but without her husband having had the proper inauguration to the Crown Prince title he still is the Heir Presumptive, not the Heir Apparent; or so I've learned).

ReplyDeleteTo me their hair is looking very beautiful. Perhaps a bit too long for the princes. Princesses Kiko and Kako are wearing their hair much better than the Empress and her daughter Princess Aiko.

DeletePrincess Kako's skirt is too long. The jackets or dresses worn by the Japanese look often too big. This is because they are always stand with their hands clasped together and are often not standing right up. Prince Hisahito is standing more or less in a normal position.

Too long for … ? Perhaps too long to run a marathon in?! But as a garment to wear to an exhibition, I find it a very elegant length. I don’t think their garments look too big due to their respectful hands, but rather, their fashion standard is more generous and less tight.
DeletePrincess Kiko looks fabulous in this blended colored black/grey two piece ensemble. I do like the black blouse worn. Her black shoes and clutch are well chosen. I do like her lighter colored hose, perfect choice.
ReplyDeletePrincess Kako, looks nice, but I find the jacket too long and boxy. The skirt is quite long. Looking again, I'm not sure if she is actually wearing a dress underneath.
Considering the exhibit regarding World War II I personally feel the color palate her was a show of respect and that is completely understandable, and fine.
