At the invitation of King Willem-Alexander, Finland’s President Alexander Stubb and his wife, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, are making a two-day State Visit to the Netherlands. On the evening of December 11, 2025, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima hosted a State Banquet at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam in honour of the Finnish President and First Lady. The State Banquet was also attended by Princess Amalia.
For the occasion, Queen Máxima wore a Jan Taminiau gown, along with the Württemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara and the Order of the White Rose of Finland. Princess Amalia wore an embellished tulle gown by Jenny Packham, the Dutch Diamond Bandeau, Queen Emma’s Diamond Stomacher Pendant, and the Order of the White Rose of Finland.

ردحذفHM Maxima: While I'm not the biggest fan of the enormous sleeves the dark red color of her gown is gorgeous. I believe we previously saw this dress when the French Presidential couple visited the Netherlands back in 2023. The Württemberg Ornate pearl tiara is such a stunning piece of jewelry.
HRH The Princess of Orange: We have yet another tiara debut from Princess Amalia and she did not disappoint. Just when I think she can't top herself she does. I love her beautiful cream/beige dress, very princess like. Her hairstyle and makeup are perfect. And her jewelry selection is simply stunning, enough glam without being too crazy. Queen Emma's Diamond Stomacher pendant is such a showstopper. We recently the Queen wear the Dutch Diamond Bandeau on her state visit to Suriname last week. It was a nice to see both mother and daughter sporting this tiara. She is definitely the star of the night!
Beautiful jewellery indeed, but why do they put the tiara crooked on the Queen's Head? Her dress colour is beautiful, but I agree that the sleeves are not the best, especially in combination with the hem, it looks like everything is slouching down.
حذفThe princess has inherited her mothers knack for wearing jewels. She is pulling some huge, grown up diamonds. I just wish that lovely Jenny Packam dress was in burgundy, or forest green or cobalt blue, colors that never fail to flatter the princess. The pale color is just dull.

حذفAmalia looks wonderful - I love the color and style of her dress, and she wears the exquisite diamond jewels so well. I am amazed Máxima can get through a state dinner with those enormous sleeves without knocking over glassware and dragging the sleeves through her food (I am sure that is what would happen to me if I attempted wearing such a dress to dinner!).

Interesting how Maxima’s red gown is holding the blue sash. I think I would have preferred it over the shoulder but I realise there’s nothing to pin it to. The same gown with a red sash previously looks more beautiful; interesting how although the red and blue coordinate excellently, the blue mark down the red dress chops it up a little and it doesn’t look as “complete”. Madame Innes-Stubb is glorious.

ردحذفI love Maxima in red. The gown is stunning in it's simplicity EXCEPT for the overly bouffant balloon sleeves... They look fine on the model, but not so nice on Maxima's version of the dress, and I suspect that this has to do with movement of the hands and arms. Less ballooning would have been better.
P.Amalia is a vision. I like that she chose a quieter, champagne coloured gown to leave the bolder colours to the principal ladies (or at least one of them that she would have known of - her mother), and that she went with a delicate facial make-up. She is a queen in training, waiting for her turn in the wings, and she looks confident with every potential for success in the years to come. The Packham gown is perfect for her.
And lastly, The First Lady wears her satin gown with style and panache. She has the figure and the posture to carry it off perfectly.
Finally, the tiaras are spot-on. That diamond bandeau is fast becoming a favourite of mine, now that I've seen both mother and daughter wear it within 2 weeks of each other and both look stunning in it's simplicity.

ردحذفOn the practical side, she is hosting a banquet, where people eat food, on either side of her, how is she, or the people on either side supposed to eat and not get those ugly red sleeves all a mucked with a piece of salad flying through the air, or meat run amok.

ردحذفQueen Maxima's big sleeves disturb the balance of the dress. Must not be easy to wear at a dining table. The pearls are beautiful, the tiara is beautiful but not together.
ردحذفCP Amalia's dress is too pale. I've seen better Jenny Packham dresses than this one. The jewelry : the same malfunction as her mother's. Although both pieces are made of diamonds the bandeau and the necklace are not going well together. Maybe the big hanger in the middle is too much.

ردحذفI can’t see past Max’s sleeves. How did she eat anything without some food getting up her arms or the sleeve dropping in the soup?! The colour is lovely but this is not her best appearance for me.

Amalia I feel needs colour, as the dress seems a little dull for her skin tone and hair etc. I prefer an up do for tiara events but she does have gorgeous hair! And that choice of necklace….wow!

I'm in awe of her tiara, the pearl necklace is superb, love the brooch placement, clever choice... Amalia looks lovely, I like her gown and the color. Her jewels are incredible. Beautiful presentation.
Amalia and Maxima both look so beautiful. Maxima more daring with her big sleeves and red color and Amalia in soft and romantic dress. I'd say my favorite look from Amalia.

ردحذفMaxima always picks the most outrageous clothing. She is a daredevil. I agree with others about the difficulty of eating and drinking with those sleeves. Maybe she practiced for weeks like Queen Elizabeth with the Imperial State Crown.
ردحذفHow beautiful all three ladies look! I love everything about Amalia's look--very much fairy tale princess. She certainly can carry off major jewels. Mrs. Innes-Stubb looks fabulous! She may not have the bling to bring but the style she brings is right there with her royal counterparts. Queen Maxima has certainly brought her Max to this event! Love the big gun tiara and those pearls add a major touch of regal elegance. Her red gown is beautifully fitted and the color is marvelous on her. I have one problem though--those excessive sleeves. I get the idea of a designer wanting to bring fashion and flair to what is otherwise a rather simple gown but sometimes less is more and this is one of those sometimes.

Don't care for any of these dresses. The red is pretty but I don't care for the style, the Jenny Peckman is pretty but I don't like the color and the chartreuse dress is not very flattering. Pretty jewels tho!
