On December 8, 2025, Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended the event 'The Reading Club Reads Stargate' at Kulturkirken Jakob in Oslo. Kulturkirken Jakob (St. James Church of Culture) is a church designed by architect Georg Andreas Bull and built in 1880. Stargate, published in 2021, is written by Ingvild H. Rishøi, who also participated in the reading. The book was read aloud by the author herself, actors, and the hosts of the podcast.
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit also attended the launch of a biography about Dr. Tore Godal, which tells the story of the man who helped save millions of lives. Tore Godal is one of Norway’s most important — and perhaps most unknown — heroes. For more than 50 years, he has been on the front lines of global health work, from combating epidemics to developing vaccine programs that have saved millions of lives worldwide.
