Queen Jetsun Pema was conferred a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology and Anthropology in recognition of her distinguished service in promoting social well-being, environmental conservation, public health and mental well-being, the inclusion of persons with disabilities, and grassroots economic development.

Quel superbe couple ; sur fond Bordeaux, la reine porte un rang délicat de perles de Tahiti !
ReplyDeleteSo dignified and gorgeous
ReplyDeleteAgree !!
DeleteLove her hair and the pearls look so nice with these beautiful colours.
ReplyDeleteRight. Her hair worn this style looks marvellous. As it does anyway.
DeleteLove her outfit, the colors and fabric, beautiful. The pearl necklace, wow! I think they look to be black pearls, gorgeous strand of pearls.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful couple. Always feel sorry for PhD students when honorary degrees are handed out to dignitaries … it’s so much work to earn a PhD, it’s hard to accept that others can walk right up and gain one in a single ceremony!
ReplyDeleteI never understood why it is done
DeleteI agree
DeleteI think that’s widely understood. An earned PhD reflects years of scholarly labour, while an honorary one recognises contribution or service. They serve different purposes, acknowledging impact beyond the university..contributions that shape society, culture or public life.
DeleteWonderful couple!
ReplyDeleteThe outfits are black, to possibly show respect, or seriousness in the academic environment and they still incorporate beautiful colors and designs! Love her skirt. Also, like the Thai academic robes. Christine
ReplyDeleteAfter the King of Thailands Mother, Queen Sirikit’s passing Thailand is in mourning for a year. The dark colors were probably worn to respect that.
DeleteElegant and simply charming. For a Doctorate Title great. Well deserved.
