  2. Princess Aiko looks so much better in the traditional Lao dress. During summer I wore light cotton pants in the same color as Princess Aiko's. My pants where less wide and a bit longer. I wore a floral tunica with it in which the color of the pants appeared too.

  3. Aiko wears the traditional costume beautifully; the dusty mauve color is very pretty on her and I love the perfectly matching shoes. Not a great fan of the pants in the next outfit, but the delicate blouse is lovely. Aiko looks to be a charming ambassador for her country!

  5. I am quite excited - look at photo #8, her usual somewhat stringy front fringe is not there! it must be the wind or accidentally swept aside, but I am happy to not see it! Also happy about the lovely trousers+blouse outfit, she looks very pretty in it.

    1. I also thought her hair looked much nicer in the picture where her bangs were blown back by the wind. I think her hairstyle would look quite flattering with the bangs grown out.

    2. I think the fringe is quite possibly a current trend for younger people in Japan, so that’s fine. I don’t mind it at all but notice that consistently the part in her hair is not a straight line which would make all the difference in neatening her hairstyle.

    3. The bangs (fringe) are indeed a fashion trend in Japan. It is called a hime cut. They usually have longer side pieces that go down as far as the jaw. Aiko had the side pieces for a long time, but it looks like they have been grown out now.

The Lao dress is beautiful and the princess looks very good in it. Although this is a national costume she looks more modern and younger than it the arrival suite. Pretty blouse and pants. Looks cool and comfortable.

  7. I have to say that the Laos dress is more flattering than her usual clothes. She has a lovely figure! Who knew? I would not have expected to see her in the traditional dress from another country. Aiko looks so worldly and very comfortable in this role. It looks like she will be a great asset to the family until she marries.

  8. Lovely traditional outfit, as well as the second outfit she wore, modern, classy, and fits quite well.

  11. Wow she looks great in both outfits. I just find that the shoes are too big and she seems to be sliding forward in them. They are most likely very comfortable but a different style would make all the difference in the overall look.

  12. Never saw her so elegant and lovely dressed!

  13. Princess Aiko looks fabulous in the national dress of Laos. We’re used to seeing her in a staple uniform of jacket and skirt. This is such a flattering look on her.

  14. She looks truly beautiful in both outfits. The dusky pink and cream are lovely colours for her complexion. The trousers are very beautiful and flattering and I’d love to own a pair!

She really does look splendid I these two outfits. I would love to think her cousin had some influence on her wardrobe for this trip.

  16. I can’t decide whether I think Aiko’s lovely face would be most flatteringly framed by full bangs, or by no bangs 🤔. I do think that one or the other would work better for her than the partial bang. — Jane
