On November 15, 2025, Princess Astrid, Prince Laurent, and Princess Claire attended a Te Deum mass held on the occasion of the 2025 King’s Day (Koningsdag) at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels. Afterwards, they took part in the ceremony of the Chamber of Representatives, the Senate, and the Federal Government at the Palace of the Nation. This year’s central theme was 'Diplomacy in a Changing World.'
King’s Day (Koningsdag) has been celebrated on November 15 since 1886, the name day of both Leopold and Albert—names traditionally given to the first four heirs to the Belgian throne. It is recognized as the King’s official birthday. In Belgium, the King and Queen do not attend the King’s Day celebrations.

The C Dior jacket is beautiful, I love the color. The Gucci silk dress, I love. The Chanel wool suit is very elegant, I can only imagine how warm this suit would be. Love her red boots, blending in well with the red of her jacket.

ReplyDeleteOn King's day a few representatives of the Belgian royal family are present at the Te Deum held every year in several churches and cathedrals in Belgium. King Albert and Queen Paola assisted for the last time last year. They are not ill but their age made it not possible anymore to assist. King Albert is 91 years old and Queen Paola is 88. Prince Lorenz was not present either for an unknown reason.
ReplyDeletePrincess Astrid looked very beautiful in her Bar jacket by Dior and Princess Claire in a vintage Chanel jacket which once belonged to Queen Paola. She is also wearing her old over the knee boots she also had in other colors. Queen Mathilde wore the same model in the past and had them also in several colors. Both princesses are looking lovely.
In the old days there were more distant family members present at the Te Deum. I didn't saw photos of any of them in the press or on TV. Since the Royal family is slendered down like in most European families we do not see i.e. Princess Esmeralda (half sister of King Albert) and living in London, Princess Lea widow of the late Prince Alexander (half brother of King Albert), etc... It would surprise me if Princess Delphine didn't receive an invitation, but she was not present either, I think, otherwise a photo would have been published in the media.
The navy channel suit is very classy and suits the wearer excellently. I find the brown Gucci dress to be simultaneously insipid and gaudy. The wearer is nevertheless beautiful but her preference for clothes by Gucci mystifies me.
ReplyDeleteAlthough a bit too long (and not easy to make shorter), the Gucci dress looks better on Princess Astrid than on the model. I don't know if she has many clothes by Gucci. This dress is the only one in which I have seen her a few times. She does have shoes, handbags and belts by that brand. She also has clothes by Chanel, but the last years I have not seen her wearing them.

ReplyDeleteThe Dior jacket over the Gucci dress matches surprisingly well, but the bow of the dress diminishes the clean style of the jacket, to me. The bow looks better on the dress by itself. Beautiful Chanel jacket too.
