The ballet The Snow Queen had its revival premiere in the Concert Hall at Tivoli. The guest of honour was Queen Margrethe, who serves as both the set designer and costume designer for the production. Among the evening’s distinguished guests were Queen Sonja of Norway, Queen Margrethe’s younger sister Princess Benedikte, and her grandson Count Nikolai.
The Christmas ballet The Snow Queen is based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale of the same name and is being restaged in a year marking the 220th anniversary of his birth and the 150th anniversary of his death. The story follows two children, Gerda and Kay, whose friendship is tested when Kay is struck by a shard from a magical mirror and abducted by the cold and mysterious Snow Queen.
A total of 36 professional ballet dancers from Tivoli Ballet Theatre, representing 11 countries including Italy, France, the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Ukraine, take part in the production. The musician Oh Land composed the score, and Yuri Possokhov created the choreography. The Snow Queen runs in Tivoli’s Concert Hall until 21 December.
Sonja and Margrethe both look lovely. I took a gasp at the pants Benedikte was wearing. The top looked lovely, but those pants, certainly not up to her usual standard of classy dressing.
ردحذفLes deux reines sont élégantes, chacune dans son style ; à la place de Benedikte, je n’aurais pas porté ce manteau en fourrure mais plutôt un modèle qui aurait été plus sobre pour aller avec le haut ainsi que le pantalon !

Son manteau semble être en astrakan. C'est assez rare.
La cape de la reine Sonja est belle mais tout son ensemble est noir ou bleu marine, ce n'est pas très festif.
La femme qui accueille tout le monde (photos 1 et 2) a fait un excellent choix car sa veste blanche à paillettes irisées-glacées est la tenue idéale pour la Reine des neiges, bravo à elle ! Paloma.
I love the outfit of the lady who is welcoming the royal guests. A beautiful jacket on a dark classic skirt or trousers and beautiful accessories (less is more).
ردحذفI really admire Margrethe. She is making the most of her post-queen life by doing the things she loves to do. She is a model for all retirees. Her work in the arts is leaving a glorious legacy.
