On November 27, 2025, Queen Camilla, Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles and Royal Colonel of the 4th Battalion, The Ranger Regiment, attended the Biennial RIFLES Awards Dinner at the City of London Guildhall. Inside the Guildhall, the Queen was joined by the Duke of Gloucester, Royal Colonel of the 6th Battalion The Rifles; the Duchess of Gloucester, Royal Colonel of the 7th Battalion; and the Duchess of Edinburgh, Royal Colonel of the 5th Battalion.
The Queen and Sophie both look so beautiful! I love the velvet.

Loving all the velvet…red, navy (purple?) and green!! The Queen looks great in this dress since it’s cut closer to her great figure and the red is beautiful on her. Sophie also seems to be wearing a dress that is better fit to her figure and I’m drooling over the gorgeous tennis necklace. And as always, the DOG is dressed beautifully and love the green velvet coat.
ردحذفCam, the dress appears frumpy. DoE looks tired, her trip must have been exhausting. DoG and husband, he looks great, would love to have seen the dress under the gorgeous coat she was wearing.
ردحذفQueen Camilla is almost 80; she’s looking so glamourous in a beautiful shade of red velvet with stunning jewels. Daring to wear form fitting dresses at this age is fantastic!
حذفAlmost 80, is not a reason to wear, a frumpy dress. The neckline is particularly bad, the sleeves might have looked better, had they not moved into a flared length at the elbow area. The velvet is a heavy looking fabric that wears Camila, not she wearing the gown. The velvet fabric seems to pull everything down, and at nearly 80, that is just not a good look.
حذفI don't like the velvet dress worn by Queen Camilla. I say no to the shape of the dress and to the red color. I prefer dark red, burgundy, etc.... The shoulders are too thick and too wide again. The velvet quality looks rather cheap, which it is probably not. She is 78 just like me. I would not have worn a form fitting velvet dress, but a beautiful pair of black and a bit flaired velvet pants with a fluid tunica which is not made of velvet but of silk or another smooth fabric. She could always have worn a beautiful cape or broad shawl to keep her warm. The black jacket with white drawings has big shoulder pads, which she is wearing on a dress with big shoulder pads. It is not the first time she is wearing double big shoulder pads.
حذفDuchess of Edinburgh looks good in her velvet dress with the golden accessories. A pity she put her hair together in a low neck bun. She looks so much better with her hair loose. Duchess Sophie should also stop with the silvery eye shadow. It doesn't look good in the wrinkles around her eyes. A matte eyeshadow in a natural color looks so much better for every women who is not so young anymore.
Again age has nothing to do with it, the dress wears her. The colour is lovely. Other monarchs are her age and choose better styles.
حذف@Anon 02;00 and 12:40: so tell us please what your concept of "frumpy" is? As a stanalone characterization, it is worthless, delivers negativity without details. So what is "frumpy" please? I see a nice evening gown, no flowers, no buttons, a terrific colour, a good fit - something that any royal lady, young or old, slim or not slim, could wear. The necklace is anything but frumpy. The velvet is velvety and pulls nothing down, I would not know how velvet is pulling at anything or anybody. - Lack for words? Why don't you keep then your "frumpy" until you find more telling ones?
حذفThe red velvet gown looks festive, gorgeous. The cut of the gown and design, suits her beautifully. The deep colored and embellished coat is gorgeous, I love this. Her evening clutch looks pretty, adding color. The sapphire and diamond earrings and diamond necklace look lovely.

Brigitte looks stunning, from what can be seen, it appears a green satin gown. Whatever the color its beautiful. Velvet coat by the look of it. I would love to see up close what jewels she is wearing. She looks wonderful.

ردحذفThe queen‘s velvet dress might not be perfect, but velvet is a tricky fabric, even on younger figures. The colour is ideal with the jewellery, and the glittery jacket is wonderful, a cheeky, extra touch.

All the ladies look absolutely gorgeous! I love velvet too. I remember when I was young and my mother made me a beautiful velvet dress to my school prom. It felt so luxurious.
ردحذفRed suits Camilla wonderfully and the dress has a nice shape. Her jacket/cape is beautiful. DoG's dress seems to have a very beautiful shade of green.

I clicked on the 4th photo. I was very surprised to see the Duchess of Gloucester wearing at least 3 different necklaces (maybe 4). She is usually dressed very well and has great taste, but so many necklaces is extremely exaggerated.

ردحذفI disagree with all those “beautiful queen” comments. That dress does Camilla no favors. She should wear a different neckline and dress style. I am also 78 and I would not wear a form fitting dress if I had her bulk frame.
