  2. Wow! She is so beautiful in that colour, and so animated and joyful. Her skin is flawless and I personally love uncoloured finger nails; for me nail polish is not a fashion item I admire (not least because it is unnecessary chemical or plastic production in a world that desperately needs us to look after nature) and these days when nail varnish or acrylic add-onscare so popular, I find her hands even more beautiful without extra colour.

  3. Great photos of the princess demonstrating her support! She really has a spark that comes thru so well in photos. Love the red color and the cut of the dress with the waist belt/tie detail. Gorgeous lady and a great diplomat for Japan.

  4. Not a fan of the dress; it looks a bit like a maternity dress. What I appreciate most from Pr Kako is that she is so different from her mother.

    1. @MaryT, yes, they are very different. One is inside and the other completely outside the line of succession, which defines each and every aspect of their public life. As for the outfit, which is on topic here, she is once again very pretty, without wearing tightly fitted clothing. The dress is quite unique in its design, I like it.

    2. Anonymous 16:48, neither HIH P Kako nor her mother HIH CP Kiko is in the line of succession to the Japanese throne. Women cannot inherit the throne in Japan.

    3. @Anon 12:06, yes you are right, I wrote a bit carelessly. Kiko is the spouse of the person in line of succession, i.e. of the future Emperor. Meaning she is the future Empress, isn't she. Everything else I uphold as valid for me: A future Empress is sure more restricted in how she behaves, so to say the best in Kako is that she is unlike her mother is, IMHO, kind of rude. It is very well possible to praise and like Kako without hurting another person.

  5. She looks as good in the dress as the model. I see the neckline was brought up a tad, but it does not affect the overall look. Lovely colour on her.

    1. Dear Aggie, I know that in the presence of the empress the protocol for the ladies of the imperial court is rigid: the colours of the gowns, the necklines, the cut, even the movements are affected.
