On November 19, 2025, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended the 2025 Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The Royal Variety Performance is a televised variety show held annually in the UK for the purpose of raising money for the Royal Variety Charity. For the occasion, the Princess of Wales wore an emerald green off-the-shoulder ruffled stretch velvet gown by Talbot Runhof.

The deep green velvet gown and matching velvet shoes are gorgeous. Love the contrasting silver clutch, divine. The design of this gown suits her beautifully. The diamond earrings and bracelet are the perfect combination and choice. The Princess looks elegant, beautiful.

حذف@Anon 7:08 I do not agree at all. Do you think she should wear a sack to cover her body? She has the perfect body for a bodycon dress. It would look equally good with someone with a few "feminine" curves. It would not suit someone with a tummy, for example. There are other designs that are better suited for different body types.
حذفHer face looks truly beautiful when she smiles, and the dress itself is stunning. That said, and this is just my opinion, as a fashionista it’s quite obvious to me: while one shouldn’t dress in sackcloth and ashes, it is important to choose styles that suit one’s body type so that a dress can really shine. Unfortunately, the Princess of Wales has a rather long torso in proportion to shorter legs, and in a figure-hugging dress this can often appear less flattering. Absolutely gorgeous. This is an amazing dress and the Princess of Wales looks wonderful. Only one tiny complaint, her hair looks great here as it’s off her shoulders and down her back but in other photos it’s dangling round her face and takes away from the perfection of the dress

حذفI think the dress looks absolutely gorgeous on Kate, she is radiant. The dress would probably also look fantastic on someone with more curves as well. Having said this, velvet is not so easy to wear if you have more curves, as it also accentuates even the smallest belly, which normally comes with the rest of the curves on normal, natural women.

There Is no column here, there is a bodycon dress suiting a slim body.
That body has an owner who deserves respect, at least for the severe disease she has gone through and that, from what I understand, still suffers from the aftermath of a potential life threatening illness.
Respect is due to the Princess of Wales, no matter what her fashion picks may be.
Just an addition.
As much as I am entitled to give a well informed opinion as a fashionista myself, I prefer to focus more on what happened before the Wales Couple got off the car on their arrival.

A sign of support and love , a husband who is the real column/ rock his wife can hold on to at every step of the way.

حذفGorgeous dress. I love she went with the matching shoes. I wish she’d have done something with her hair. With it being a night event she could have worn it up. By the end of the night she’s tucking it behind her ear. I would love to see her elevate her make up routine,maybe a dark lipstick. This look is the same make-up look as her daytime look. We know she has stunned at evening looks in the past,I hope she brings them back.

Hi Lowri, interesting set of thoughts! I find that this makeup is much more dramatic than her daytime looks, and that it looks very beautiful. I don’t think it can be “elevated”, “elevated”means bettered. I also agree that her hair could have been up, but down, it is truly her crowning glory. I love the contrast of the wild big hair with the fitted dress!

Lovely colour green, fits well but as stated above it just accentuates her thin long body, like a column. Nothing wrong with that just a visual

She looks great in emerald and the velvet and jewels elevate beautifully for an evening event. I personally would have preferred straight hair, if left down, which would make this (and any outfit) much more modern.
ردحذفInteresting perspective! I don’t think Catherine is as interested in modern as she is in classic. I’m very glad she didn’t straighten her hair as hair which is not naturally straight never looks as great straight as it does natural. I think her voluminous hair is a great contrast to the fitted dress. She’s absolutely stunning.

The Royal Variety Performance is not a children's show. Paddington made an appearance this year but the rest of the show would not have been in any way for children.
