King Charles and Queen Camilla Host the Diplomatic Reception at Windsor Castle

Queen Camilla wore the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara. Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank wedding

On November 18, 2025, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and the Prince of Wales hosted a reception for the diplomatic corps at Windsor Castle. The King, Queen, and the Prince welcomed over 900 diplomats to Windsor Castle for the white-tie and tiara reception — the first time the event has been held at Windsor Castle since 2001.

Queen Camilla wore the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, featuring a large emerald at its centre surrounded by diamonds, for the reception. This tiara, in Art Deco style, was crafted in 1919 by Boucheron for Dame Margaret Greville. Greville’s jewels were later inherited by the Queen Mother and eventually passed to Queen Elizabeth II. In 2018, Princess Eugenie wore the same Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara at her wedding to Jack Brooksbank.

  1. Simply beautifull! The dress, the tiara, wow!
( Q.C. seems a bit overwhelmed with so much jewelry herself!)

    1. Haha, I agree! She can wear almost every tiara with her hairstyle. But you never know: maybe it's attached with puns who hurt a little bit, or it weighs a lot. Queen Mathilde had a lot of pain due to her tiara on her wedding day. Eitherway: I agree she looks fab!

  2. Mon regard ne peut se détacher du diadème sublime ; pour les autres bijoux, ont-ils été légués ou sont-ils récents ?

  3. lovely Quuen. the wires sticking out of the tiara ruin the look!

    1. Well maybe not quite ruin ... ? We see this absolutely unique tiara for the second time in public, first time worn by Eugenie at her wedding and then, the frame was better hidden. So it is not perfectly hidden by the way Camilla wears it but to talk from "ruin" is a bit far fetched. I suggest to read the recent Crown Jeweller blog about Camilla wearing this tiara.

    2. Well said 10:35. In no way is it ruined, but rather, a little ok show… which can be instead seen as insight that we don’t normally get in to how tiaras are modified to hold on to the head.

    3. I would not say that it ruins the look, but it is disturbing... I think that the Swedish ladies must have the best tiara-hairdresser, they always look impeccable (having said this, I think I have seen the Tiara base showing on Victoria a couple of times as well).

  4. Almost nobody wears tiaras and hats like Camilla. The base of the adorable beautiful Kokoshnik tiara is a bit visible, I suppose there is no other solution to wear it, but nevertheless, she is second to none in the discipline of glamming up for an event like this. Which should be remembered each time when someone writes that she needs style advice. She simply does not want to be a style queen in the "everyday tasks" discipline. Her gown is lovely, the length allows a beautiful swishy skirt and a good silhouette. I could do without all intermediate lengths between just-under-the-knee and floor-length, for everyone. - I am not sure that neckline and necklace are the best pairing, this dress could do without the collar part - nevertheless I love that snake.

Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, inherited Mrs.Greville’s jewels. Many of them have been incorporated into the “regular rotation” of royal jewels, but this one had not been seen until Eugenie wore it at her wedding.

Paloma.

  9. Many criticise Camilla’s day clothes, but I think her white tie outfits prove that she absolutely does care about clothes - when it matters to her. She’s fabulous, as is Charles! Wowsers.

  10. Wonderful to see the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara worn again. It is a beautiful tiara. Camilla’s hair is styled quite nicely here, although I think it would be preferable for the base of the tiara to be less visible. I don’t really care for the serpent necklace here -but overall Camilla looks very good. Charles and William aren’t super visible in these pics, but they also looked good in the Windsor uniform.

  11. I have read comments elsewhere that there is some surprise that Camilla would wear the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara when it is so strongly associated with Eugenie. I must admit that I had the same thought. It felt so special that we had this previously unseen tiara that became a highlight of Eugenie's wedding. I know Camilla has access to whatever she wants, but I wonder why she would choose this tiara when she has so many others to choose from. It looked so well suited to Eugenie, and looks too small on Camilla, not to mention that her hair was not styled expertly enough to cover the base. It may still have had brown velvet covering the frame from the wedding and was simply removed instead of being replaced with a blonde tone fabric. I am probably the only one that thinks this was a bit of a misstep by Camilla. In other words, I can't ever see Catherine wearing this because of its association to Eugenie.

Her gown is in a color that always looks good her, but is still a longer version of the same design that she wears the majority of the time. I really wish she would try a new dress maker so she would have a few new styles. I think she would really look wonderful in something different.

    1. So, you'd rather not see this lovely tiara ever again because one person had the privilege to wear it once? Jewels are meant to be worn, and I really hope Camilla and Catherine will not let these things gather dust.

    2. I obviously don’t know what the thought process was for Camilla to decide to wear this tiara. But, in general, it might not be a bad idea for the BRF ladies to rotate who wears specific tiaras more than has been the case in past years so a particular tiara does not become so strongly associated with someone who will never wear it again or who later becomes a controversial figure (I am not suggesting Eugenie is controversial; I do not view her as such). The Swedish royal family seems to do this a bit more.

    3. The royal jewels belong to the crown and it is wonderful to see The Queen wearing so many different ones. The Greville Emerald deserves to be seen and it would be a terrible shame to solely connect with a loan to one member of the family.

  12. Now this I call a pleasant surprise. While I think the underconstruction could have been better hidden, and the tiara itself might look a tad better being more upright (on said underconstruction, one just needed to adjust the wiring a bit; this could be done by a experienced hairdresser), she is wearing every single bejewelled piece of the Royal Collection extremely well. I am happy to see this glorious piece worn again. Yay!

  13. Wow!!! Love this whole look from Queen Camilla--and it's fabulous that she is wearing the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik. I love that Camilla likes to mix up her tiara choices--and this tiara is beautiful on her. Speaking of beautiful, her gown is stunning. The tone on tone intricate embroidery is so beautiful. This gown is perfect and Camilla looks stunning in it. I think we might see Camilla wearing this tiara again because the base has been wrapped with a light velvet to better blend in her hair.
