On October 25, 2025, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Crown Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia visited Valdesoto to present the 2025 Exemplary Town of Asturias Award to the parish of Valdesoto, in recognition of its commitment and collective effort to preserve and promote ancestral traditions passed down from generation to generation. The award is granted annually by the Princess of Asturias Foundation to a community that stands out for its solidarity, cultural vitality, and preservation of heritage.
The residents of Valdesoto have worked collectively to restore fountains, paths, natural spaces, manor houses, chapels, and granaries. The town is home to a wide variety of well-preserved or restored historic buildings, such as the Palace of the Carreño family, the Palace of the Camino family, the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist, the Leceñes manor house, the Chapels of the Holy Kings and St. Augustine of Castiello, and the Palace of El Valle, among others.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia wore a navy cardigan jacket by Sézane. Princess Leonor wore a navy denim jumpsuit by the Spanish brand Ramsos and a long brown suede coat by Monpiel, while Infanta Sofia wore a grey collared wool jacket by & Other Stories.

Lovely family pictures. Someone in the last week wrote that she was worried about Letizia looking too skinny; I join the worry.
ReplyDeleteWell, you can stop worrying. As a society, we have become accustomed to people weighing more than they did in previous generations. For some reason, it is incomprehensible to people that someone can be very fit and healthy without carrying extra weight. She could not have such a toned body with defined muscle if she was ill or had an eating disorder, which is what I think you are hinting at. Until some sort of announcement is made to suggest otherwise, stop speculating on her health.
Delete@Anonymous 1:26 I could not agree more. Whereas it is absolutely a no go to ‘worry about someone, a princess e.g., looking overweight’ it is fine to slam a woman who is slender. Is it because the majority of the public is overweight themselves these days?
DeleteWhat 1:26 has written is not well informed.
DeleteThe woman bodyshaming the Queen must be hugely on the large side
DeleteAnon 12:23 Of course it is well informed. At the VERY LEAST it is rude to discuss what you perceive as a flaw anyone's body. We all should have been brought up to know better. What is much worse is making comments about possible health or mental health concerns because of weight. It is simply ignorant to think royals do not have the best medical care available. If there was a problem, the royal in question would be receiving care, which is none of our business. Lastly, discussing anyone's weight (too heavy or too thin) can trigger problems for the person you are discussing and for the people reading your comments. Instead of defending your stance, research your position. You will find out you are sadly misinformed.
DeleteLeonor dresses like an elderly person. It’s so odd for such a beautiful young lady. MR
ReplyDeleteLenor dresses as she chooses for her age and responsibilities. That’s not odd but great. Her opinions on fashion can be very different from yours - no doubt a different culture from yours - and that’s fine. I think she always looks absolutely beautiful, approachable and very polished.
DeleteObviously she is going to think about your opinion, a person a a Country that she even do not know.
DeleteYes, because all the elderly women I know wear denim jumpsuits. Oh brother!
Delete@ 20:50 methinks your remark comes from a real elderly woman!
DeleteI really like cardigans that double as jackets because they are so versatile. I can imagine Letizia's Sezane cardigan dressed up/down or casual/formal. Sofia's jacket looks warm and cosy. Leonor looks a little less polished with her jacket swinging wide open but it's great to see these ladies dressed casually because they look like the rest of us regular folks.
ReplyDeletePeople here are from other countries and do not even understand what is happening..
ReplyDeleteA boy wanted to be her husband and asked her...the King was....😆
I would love to see that. He will have a story to tell for the rest of his life.
Paloma.
Lovely to see the family together at this event.

Looking closer to the photos it appears Leonor is wearing a denim jumpsuit. I am not keen on leather jackets, skirts etc. but this gives a ‘70’s vibe. I beleive the king is a Lao wear denim, I can see the contrast thread on the cuff.
ReplyDeleteLeonor is in military training so her need for ‘civilian’ clothes is minimal, use what’s in your closet. I am sure we will see a whole new wardrobe once she is more involved in her royal duties
I like the suede jacket, when its belted it looks quite smart, the color though with her Navy ensemble I don't feel looks good.
ReplyDeleteDenim and tan - a classic comination. They all look splendid, completely relaxed in the environment, and not using it as a photo opportunity as another RF would. Love all the outfits, beautifully presented, casual elegance.
ReplyDeleteJe remarque que je ne suis pas la seule à apprécier la veste en daim camel ; elle me conviendrait mieux ceinturée !
ReplyDeleteThey have been in avery small rural town, making cheese, saussages, with animals, hens, ships, cows, corn....in the rain, humidity in the Green north Spain...fashion?
