Queen Sonja of Norway attended the opening of Máret Ánne Sara’s commissioned artwork at Tate Modern

On Monday, October 13, 2025, Queen Sonja of Norway attended the opening of Máret Ánne Sara’s commissioned artwork at Tate Modern in London. This event marks the first major presentation of a Sámi artist from Norway in the United Kingdom. The installation will be on display until April 6, 2026. Máret Ánne Sara is a Northern Sámi artist known for exploring global ecological issues through the lens of her lived experience within the Sámi community.

      She was out and about on an ecent on Friday and on Saturday she participated in the opening of the Norwegian parlamentet. This blog just didn't share that.

    Norway is such a wonderful country! The colours of the sky and the sea are amazing! I stood at North Cape with my hubby and he said: "Look that direction. There come the islands of Spitzbergen - and then north pole!"
