Queen Maxima Pays Working Visit to Sterke Buurtverbinders in Roermond

On the afternoon of Thursday, October 2, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands paid a working visit to Sterke Buurtverbinders (“Strong Neighborhood Connectors”) in Roermond. The initiative is part of a program of the same name run by the Oranje Fonds, in which active local residents work to connect initiatives, organizations, and fellow residents within their neighborhood. The visit took place at Youth Center Gotcha.

Queen Máxima met with staff members from the social welfare partner Vijf and with active neighborhood residents involved in the program, to discuss what this approach means for their work in the community. Together, they reflected on what they have already achieved and what future goals they have for the neighborhood. Sterke Buurtverbinders is a three-year program of the Oranje Fonds, involving sixteen social organizations.
