On October 21, 2025, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the presentation of the 2025 Birgit Nilsson Prize at the Stockholm Concert Hall. The Festival d’Aix-en-Provence was honored with the 2025 Birgit Nilsson Prize for its artistic excellence and commitment to developing new opera productions, with special recognition for the 2021 world premiere of Innocence, with music by Kaija Saariaho and an original libretto by Sofi Oksanen.
At the official ceremony, the King presented the Prize to Sophie Joissains, Mayor of Aix-en-Provence, and Paul Hermelin, Chair of the Festival’s Board. Birgit Nilsson (1918–2005) was one of the greatest opera singers of the twentieth century. The Birgit Nilsson Prize is awarded approximately every three years and honors active artists and institutions that have made a major contribution to the perpetuation of their art form.

Mi piace molto la regina Silvia, sempre ben vestita e curata. Il sorriso caldo e accogliente è il suo segno distintivo, ho idea che sia anche pacata nei modi.
ReplyDeleteShe has been an amazing queen!
DeleteDélicieuse Silvia dans cette robe d’une couleur très douce ; elle a ma préférence par rapport aux deux autres dames vêtues d’une robe imprimée !
ReplyDeleteI do not like Queen Silvia's dress. The top is beautiful, the skirt is nice, the weird sash/ suspender and waist detail is very unflattering and doesn't seem to serve a purpose except to ruin the over all look of the dress. Too bad because from the side it looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteAgree with your comment. Very strange design that looks like a suspender from afar. I may add that the color is very unbecoming for her.
DeleteI agree with everything except that I like the color of the dress on Queen Silvia. The color is soft and softer colors are usually better for older ladies.
DeleteI find it really flattering. I think the very light colour is hard to wear but it suits her beautifully. A really interesting dress design that is great on her.
DeleteI am not sure I am really fan of her outfit, however I don't see reasons for harsh criticism. Like the color and the fit. It was worth trying the design.

For me, this gown is unique and lovely, with its asymmetric "bolero imitation" top part. The waist detail does what it should with such short top, accentuates the waist in a delicate way. She wears an unusual pearl necklace, a pity we don't see it closely.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and elegant Queen Silvia looks! I love her gown--especially the decorated bodice.

Lovely dress on the queen, nice necklace perfect length. I also like the black dress with the silver pattern, sleek and suits the wearer perfectly. A very gracious queen supporting the gentleman with the cane.
ReplyDeleteLovely softcloroured dress of queen Silvia.
ReplyDeleteI love Queen Silvia's dress. The top looks like it could be a little jacket over
ReplyDeletethe dress. The colour is beautiful and she looks amazing.
I love this gown, Queen Silvia looks well groomed and elegant. Her gown is a gorgeous color.
ReplyDeleteQ Silvis looks spot on, like the color of this gown too.
