King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden visited New York from September 21 to 24 to attend events including the opening of the United Nations General Assembly and the commemoration of the UN’s 80th anniversary. On September 24, Queen Silvia participated in a seminar organized by Save the Children, UNICEF, and Childhood Foundation on the theme 'A Future at Risk: Reinvigorating Global Action for the Rights of the Child.'
That same day, the Queen also held individual meetings with UNICEF’s Executive Director Catherine Russell, UN Women’s Executive Director Sima Bahous, and Najat Maalla M’jid, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative on Violence Against Children.
During the day, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia also visited Sweden’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations to meet with staff from the two Swedish foreign missions in New York. Together, the King and Queen met with Carl Skau, Deputy Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme, who provided an update on his work. The Queen also met with Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska.

I continue to love how Sylvia pairs a colourful garment with another in a different colour. Those skirt suits and pant suits which are all the same colour (last pic) look less interesting on her, and dare I say overly formal, especially for a meeting. We can see, especially from the group photos, that Sylvia looks both current and visually interesting in these detailed multicolour ensembles. Lyra
