On September 4, 2025, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited the new gardens at the Natural History Museum in London, where they met with children and young people participating in educational programs designed to foster a stronger connection with nature. The gardens, which opened in 2024, serve as a living laboratory where visitors and scientists can identify and monitor wildlife in an urban environment.
The visit formed part of the Princess’s commitment, in her role as Royal Patron of the Natural History Museum, to environmental causes that the Prince and Princess of Wales actively support. They were accompanied by representatives from the Museum as they met with schoolchildren and explored the newly transformed gardens.
On this occasion, the Princess wore a green tweed jacket by Ralph Lauren, a white shirt, and dark green tailored trousers. She completed the look with brown suede loafers by the Spanish brand Pretty Ballerinas and a black crocodile-effect leather belt by Anderson’s. The Princess also accessorized with her Daniella Draper alphabet necklace—featuring the initials of her three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis—and pearl drop earrings by Kiki McDonough.
Not sure about the blonde. Seems to age her.
ReplyDeleteThe same for me. However not a reason for suspecting a wig, @ 15:28.
DeleteFor me on the contrary: schoolgirl like and far too long
DeleteThe colour is not bad but there's too much hair now. Extensies?
Delete"Not sure about the blonde. Seems to age her."
DeleteAgreed.
Agree. Her hair is too long and the colour makes her looks pale. Both conditions age her.
Deletelooks like she's wearing a wig!
ReplyDeleteI think 15:28 it’s worth remembering Catherine has been through cancer. To have someone comment that her hair looks like a wig is probably really uncomfortable. It’s probably better not to write things that could hurt a person, in general, but even more so when you are aware they’ve suffered and that so many in their place do lose all their hair and wear wigs and feel very uncomfortable about a loss they never wanted to make.
DeleteAgree, the hair looks strange.
DeleteI think the same, perhaps just a hair piece. The fullness does not look natural. I prefer her brunette colour to this lighter colour, it makes her complexion sallow. Perhaps it is to help blend the gray easier. Otherwise her outfit is very nice and appropriate.
DeleteAgree, I thought the same thing. It's quite normal if she is getting more treatment.
DeleteI love her outfit and especially the shoes.
Hmm -Catherine has always had thick hair. When gray strands appear, or the hair is dyed or highlighted blonde, the texture changes and adds volume. That would explain the incredible mane of hair.
DeleteI don't like the new hair color on her as much as the brown, although they say that lighter hair flatters the face as you age. But I think this hair color makes her look older. But she's still a beautiful and very attractive woman. I admire how she has apparently overcome her illness with great strength.
What is wrong with saying that it looks like a wig? That was my first thought. OK, and I’ll just add that my second thought was I think the outfit seems a little drab.
DeleteThis is no reflection on Kate, but it’s definitely not one of her better outfits.
Lol people get offended because someone say it looks like a wig, but the same people continue to say Madame Macron has a wig even if she hasn't and claim Meghan has extentions even if she hasn't. Get down from your pedestal😂🤣
DeleteNo on the hair.
ReplyDeleteThey had a summer holiday in Greece apparently. Sun lightens hair so it might be natural.
ReplyDeleteAs a brunette whose hair lightens in the sun, this is not how it lightens
DeleteNot unless Greece is located on the surface of the sun.
DeleteA Royal Beatles.
ReplyDeleteTrès belle chevelure mais à mon humble avis, je la préfère dans sa couleur naturelle !
ReplyDeleteAgree 100 %
DeleteI agree, but we don't know why she considered changing. I tend to think that it has to do with her health situation.
DeleteIt’s a terrific outfit for a garden visit. A lovely match of a little formal with relaxed casual. I particularly like the jacket on Catherine, … who I’ve never seen wearing anything less than superbly elegant! Looks like she got some sun and some hair colour fading over the summer and I hope they as a family had a blast after such a hard year!
ReplyDeletenot this, it is not your hair color princess Kate!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo no no, looks like a wig. REALLY time for a hair cut.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. She needs to have a nice trim. This is not all her natural hair.
DeleteI appreciate that Catherine’s hair is styled/curled and I think long hair generally suits her; however, the extremely long length and the volume of her hair here is overwhelming the rest of her physical appearance, especially in the 3rd photo.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
Well said her hair is overwhelming her, I don’t believe it is natural, for what ever reason she is experiencing with different looks.
DeleteAgree. They do look lovely overall. Glad to see her again.
DeleteDamsel Dragonfly
Totally agree
DeleteI also think her hair overwhelms her.
DeleteI like her natural darker hair colour better.
ReplyDeleteHair is too light and too long. Glad to see pants. She looks extraordinarily thin.
ReplyDeleteI think she has summer hair but, also chemo does change hair color and texture, plus natural aging grays pop in whether we want them or not.
ReplyDeleteJust gotta embrace it!
Kim
chemo kills your hair...extensions
DeleteThe Princess of Wales had some grey hair at the relatively early age of 34 when she was pregnant with Princess Charlotte There was huge media interest at the time. The grey is likely to have increased over the last decade, and the chemo may have accelerated the process. Personally, I think the overly long curls are less flattering than the colour.
DeleteAnnie M, I agree. Time for a nice trim. She shouldn’t be afraid to change her signature look. William did with growing a beard , and once people got used to it, they have accepted his look.
DeleteI know a girl that had chemo that turned her hair white, even if didn't loose it. It could be possible, Catherine's hair are so "strange" because of chemo's effects.
DeleteShe probably had some gray after chemo, which is fairly common, and with her summer highlights (sounds like they spent a fair amount of time on a yacht) the blonde would be a natural transition. New hair is always a nice change that just makes a person feel good and she looks great. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteThis time too much hair extensions perharps?
ReplyDeleteHair colour makes her look guite pale, darker Brown suits her better.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the colour, because when we grow older, a lighter colour is more becoming (less harsh). I also would not mind the length, if she tamed it by wearing an updo or a half-up-half-down or a ponytail in public. What I personally absolutely don't like are those voluminous huge bouncing waves, covering too much of her slim person and absorbing a huge amount of attention from the public. I get it that she likes her hair long, but I absolutely don't get why she has to present *all* those waves in public. If Catherine does not want to be perceived as a fashion horse, then she should stop to show off all this disproportionally blown up hair - knowing very well that it is a hot topic for the public, even more emotionally loaded than clothing.
ReplyDelete...when we grow older, hair color becomes grey
DeleteYou are so right
Delete@ 18 : 24 ...older, hair color becomes grey... Yes indeed, the question is then whether you want to go ahead with it. Personally I don't.
DeleteI don't like this new hair on the PoW.
ReplyDeleteShe is just too old for hair looking like that. Her shoes are very interesting.
ReplyDeleteLeft-Right shoe do not fit...find the error
DeleteThe hairstyle, or rather the lack of a proper one, does her no favors. Dropped ruffles for visiting gardens and playing with children...
ReplyDeleteThe few colours of the outfit and the protruding white sleeves, if at another royal lady there would be much criticism.
She has long, beautifully styled hair whether it is a wig or not. I do not think her age has anything to do with it. Whoever made the rule that women over 40 cannot have long, nicely styled hair? Probably the same person who tried to make the stupid rule about wearing white after Labor Day (US holiday). The Ralph Lauren jacket is beautiful on her. By the way, he is a designer whose models do wear white after Labor Day. She has paired the jacket nicely with the shirt and pants. Finally, I think Maxima should take lessons on how hair should look when you have the title of "queen", or will have the title of "queen."
ReplyDeleteMs. B
Oh please Mrs. B this hair has nothing to do with age other than it becomes evident you are an older person trying to look young, not becoming. Yes if she or her husband likes long hair great, just know that it may not be a luscious as it was 20 years ago.
DeleteOh please Anonymous, or whatever your real name is, I am well aware that it does not look the same as 20 years ago. Whatever she has done I think she looks great and "not becoming." My post, my opinion.
DeleteMs. B
Well said Ms B!
DeleteWas pleased to see the Prince & Princess of Wales back in action. While Catherine has made it clear that she doesn’t want to be defined by what she wears, I was really disappointed in this drab outfit. It’s not a dress and heels occasion but something brighter would have been better. Not sure about the blonde hair but it may just need getting used to.
ReplyDeleteI like her less stuffy dress down look, and not wearing stockings. It’s about time to modernize and be more relatable. Hair colour a no
DeleteI’m not liking the blonde, it somehow looks unnatural on her. I respect its individual choice but her hair really does need to be cut. It’s lacking in lustre. When she had it shoulder length with the Carmel highlights it looked far more flattering and youthful.
ReplyDeleteFashion wise perfect choices for the event.
Lowri.
Agree going blonde as we age is not a good colour for some of us brunettes.
-Dorothe-
ReplyDeleteNice jacket, not a fan of pointy shoes. They didn't announce which stage cancer she had, did they? I had stage IV, my hair grew back unevenly, thicker on one side, thinner on the other. After the scare, it is reasonable to celebrate life, whatever she wants to do w/the color should be fine w/everyone. Though I do agree the length is too long. Christine
ReplyDeleteThis Is a post where words fail to come to me as easily as I would.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read a comment about a supposed wig worn by the Princess of Wales , I immediately stopped going through further posts.
Talking about a wig when it comes to a cancer patient, is something that makes me feel so sad and uncomfortable.
As far as I can see, Catherine wears no wig or extensions, she just chose to try a different colour.
I do not know the reason, maybe It means a new starting point, her wish to explore new hair shades/ dimensions so different from her usual "self" or a way to mark her re- birth...
Whatever.
I welcome it, I appreciate this shift.
When talking about a cancer patient and nobody knows what he/ she exactly has gone through, I think words have to be weightless, like snowflakes falling silently on the ground, never to be heard.
Words have to be whispered , words should be treated with utmost care lest they fall heavily.
Words may hurt in some particular cases.
Let's make they fall sofly and let's her make her choices in total freedom.
You can change your hair colour but you can't delete your sufferings and the scars on your soul imo
P. Catherine is beautiful as she is, nothing less, nothing more
Please, let's respect that invisibile burden I sense she is still carrying so bravely.
Thank you.
P. the original. I totally agree and very well said!
DeleteMs. B
Well said P. Some of the comments are shockingly rude.
DeleteOh, thank you so much@ Ms B. and @ Anonymous 04:06.
DeleteWhat I said comes from my direct experience.
I lost to cancer two dear friends of mine.
They didn't have the time or chance to see their hair grow out, let alone change their hair colour.
One used a wig, actually.
I remember their gruelling, draining fight against that damn hidden enemy but they never gave up hope till the very last day of their lives.
If only I could have had the chance to congratulate them on their new hair colour or anything else.
I lost them forever, though I still feel them alive by my side sometimes.
Life is so short , it can fade away any time.
I for one wish all the best to this brave mother of three still performing her royal duties and putting on the best garment she has, her untouched dignity.
Well done, Princess Catherine, I will always welcome every single choice from you, no matter what they say.
Live it all, embrace your re- birth, look at yourself with new confidence and hope.
Sometimes I wonder what I would do, if I ever happened to meet with Princess Catherine and Princess Mette- Marit of Norway.
The answer is: absolutely nothing.
I just would hug them tight.
Warriors don't need my words, just my total and unconditional respect and support.
According to Kate herself she is in remission or do P know something we don't? PS how did she suddenly get so thick and long hair without. help 🤔
Delete@ Anonymous 11:36
DeleteFirst of all, every cancer type/ patient Is different and has to be treated individuaIly.
I perfectly know that Kate is in remission (thanks to God!) but you don't seem to know that unfortunately cancer patients never can be considered totally out of risk , just like anybody else
Please, get some more correct information.
Kate herself said that her "cancer journey" hasn't finished yet.
She is still on a recovery path or maybe you just don't understand the public announcements in English which have been released so far.
Furthermore, cancer patients never forget the harddhip they have gone through or do you think they can remove their physical and psychological scars in the twinkling of an eye?
Do you think they no longer need any further periodical controls and don't you take into account that they could be scared?
What planet do you live in?
If I were you, I would spare such comments.
Re: the hair:
Not everybody lose their hair thoroughly and it may grow out again or do you need further explanations about this , too?
It much depends on the treatments they received just because NOT all cancer types are the same
My dear friends had the worst destiny and many more current and advanced treatments were not even available yet.
Scientific reserch has made huge progress in cancer diagnosis and related individual treatments since then.
You do not seem to be aware of the modern world we all are living in.
Everyone who is in the know seems to have made their point.
DeletePerhaps we should not comment on anyone’s hair just the clothes.
Looking at her blonde hair, it makes PoW seem very tired...the color doesn't suit her skin tone. Wonder who advised her ?
ReplyDelete22.27 I agree, looks like ashblonde, not good for P C!
DeletePants should be a wee bit longer and I am not a fan of the new hair color.
ReplyDeleteOverall a very nice outfit for the event and weather, though the inseam seems rather long. I'm hoping the current state of P. Catherine's hair is a temporary whim like the long side bangs were a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteHar Kate blonderat håret? Jag är i chock!
ReplyDeleteI don't like the hair; not the colour or the style, clothes looks okay, William looks good(Tara)
ReplyDeleteI like what she is wearing. Her trousers fit well and look smart, love the jacket and blouse. I won't comment on her hair. She has had a very serious and life threatening illness. I'm not sure what is going on with her hair. I'm grateful she is well enough to visit this organization and for us to see the Princess, she appears happy and engaging, thats all that matters.
ReplyDeleteProbably no one advised her. She may like it, but I think this style and color hair just seems to drain her face and give her a "washed out" look. It pulls her down and is not flattering. But I do like the blazer, shirt and pants combo. My favorite look. Would like the shoes, if toes were not so pointed. But that is today's shoe style.
ReplyDeleteKate's outfit is on point and totally flattering on her. This outfit, with a different colour top and bottom, suits her perfectly. The slightly loose trousers and smart jacket give the slim person just the right amount of softness. The shoes might not be the best choice, but I'm not sure what else I would have worn with this outfit. -Siri
ReplyDelete@Anon 21:56: "not wearing stockings. It’s about time to modernize ..." I wonder how somebody can write down something like the above without being embarrassed. Maybe you just mix up your own customs with being "modernized "/better/whatever, and everything else coming from the middle ages? Since when is being without stockings an unmistakeable sign of modernization?
ReplyDeleteI didn't write that comment but I agree with it. Stockings are tacky and what old ladies wear. She is too young to dress like she is 80 years old. Stockings haven't been fashionable for many, many years unless they are colored opaque fashion stockings (tights in the US). Older women wear then because they always have and because their legs show signs of their age with veins and age spots. That is understandable. There is no reason to wear them when a woman has youthful, unblemished legs.
DeleteI love, love, LOVE this outfit — the pieces fit superbly, and the interplay of earth tones and varied textures is autumnal country elegance at its finest. As for the hair, I think Catherine has chosen to experiment— we all occasionally tire of the “same old” and try something new. Imo she looks gorgeous regardless, so I don’t have as much of a problem with this as so many others seem to.
ReplyDeleteI hope she is OK but if someone is going to lighten their hair as they get older to look young then Queen Mary does it best. Her hair always looks good. Some have said Mary and Kate look like sisters!
ReplyDeleteAll these wig/extension guesses are disgusting for me. Not less than the suggestions towards other royal women to apply/wear extensions or a wig. Really, I have no other word for it than deeply disgusting, lacking any decency. We are talking about fashion, not about hair or the lack (or abundance) of it.
ReplyDeleteProbably she has no hair or very weak, my niece suffered cancer at 6 years old and her hair became odd and weak, she needed a wing to feel herself "normal"...disgusting is your comment.
DeleteHair is undeniably part of an overall fashion look and appearance. Would you rather we ignore everyone from the neck upward? We'd certainly miss out on some fantastic jewels! Which are again, part of fashion (as is hair).
DeleteSomething is off here. It's just strange. The clothing ensemble is fine, and I think the RL jacket is great. I understand that her stylist has recently resigned, but The Princess of Wales has unlimited resources. Just as our expectations for others, such as Queen Maxima, I would hope that she would take a bit more effort with her hair if she is going to experiment with color and extensions as she has clearly done here.
ReplyDeleteI fail to comprehend so many critical posts here about another woman's hair. As if you own it! Let's celebrate that Catherine is alive and well! There she is dressed elegantly and in a relaxed manner for a garden visit. Really - why criticise? Thanks to those who kindly considered her as a person with feelings as they wrote, and to the others, just put yourself in her place.
ReplyDeleteIn a sense, the public do take some ownership of the public persona of a high-profile royal. They are serving as representatives of their respective monarchies. Therefore, it is only fair that a public discourse takes place if people so wish.
DeleteAs if other royals women's hair isn't criticised daily...
DeleteThere is some public ownership agreed - but of her hair?! I agree with 15:07 that it is too personal a criticism and unfair. No wonder she has stated that she wants to do her work without focus on how she looks. It must be absolutely exhausting to be critiqued so. We don’t have to do it - and should not.
DeleteFor years we have seen comments like Mette-Marit is to blond, Victoria should wear her hair down, Maxima should get a hairbrush and other nasty comments, Meghan has extentions and Kate should cut her hair, but we get offended when people say it looks like a wig. Come on people this is just to funny.
Delete@23:38
DeleteYou seem to be hugely confused as to what Is "funny" and what
" making fun of somebody" means.
Using hair as a pretext( amongst others) to make fun of royal ladies
may resonate as petty and rude to the majority of the readers on this blog.
What if someone should use your hair as target to make fun of you?
Nobody gets " offended" in the strict sense, readers may just pity you for choosing such poor excuses (hair, first and foremost) to make royal ladies appear ridiculous.
Likewise, you do not seem to understand that your hair narrative should be set to silence in some particular cases, i.e. as far as cancer patients conditions are concerned.
Silence is all you can contribuite but you are still producing your poor comments anonimously.
You do not even have the courage to use a nickname and make yourself more recognizable than you already are.
If you just can't help yourself, say simply that you like/ don't like Kate hair and call it a day.
Please, try to find something else which may sound funny to you in real life.
Thank you.
The saddest thing is that most of the criticizing comes from anonymous posters. Shame on them.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree with you, @ Kteach.
DeleteI agree !!
