Queen Mathilde Visits the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna

On September 29, 2025, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna. Upon her arrival, the Queen was welcomed by the Executive Director of UNODC, Ghada Waly. Together with Belgium’s Drugs Commissioner, Ine Van Wymersch, Queen Mathilde took part in discussions about the social impact of drugs, with particular attention to their effects on young people.

Afterwards, Queen Mathilde attended the official opening of the exhibition Michaelina Wautier, Painter at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, alongside the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, and Brigitte Van der Bellen. The museum houses the largest collection of works by the Belgian artist, who is recognized as one of the most remarkable figures of 17th-century painting.
